At Shaw Industries, we're looking for a results-driven manufacturing leader to oversee our Coating operation and help drive safety, quality, productivity, and team development. This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys balancing people leadership with technical problem-solving in a fast-paced, continuous manufacturing environment.
As the Coating Department Manager, you'll be responsible for leading department operations, developing frontline leaders, and partnering with engineering, maintenance, quality, and production teams to optimize performance. You'll have the opportunity to influence plant-wide results while building a high-performing team focused on continuous improvement.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor coating production schedules to meet delivery timelines and quality standards.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and downtime reduction.
- Ensure adherence to production specifications and customer requirements.
- Manage, coach, and mentor a team of Coating Team Managers, operators, and technicians.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Assess regular team performance and assist in implementing training programs to enhance skills and productivity.
- Collaborate with the Quality team to identify and address quality concerns.
- Implement corrective actions to maintain and improve product quality.
- Analyze production data to detect patterns and recommend process improvements.
- Enforce workplace safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Ensure routine departmental safety audits are being conducted and potential hazards are being addressed.
- Lead initiatives to optimize processes, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency.
- Stay updated on Coating trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance department performance.
- Four year college degree (Engineering degree preferred)
- Manufacturing Department management experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
