40Summary:
Evaluates patient records upon discharge for inclusion, accuracy, and completeness of required documentation as defined by The Joint Commission, state, and federal regulations. Assigns chart deficiencies based on CCMC Medical Staff Rules and Regulations. Communicates with HIM Records Management, HIM Transcription and HIM Quality Compliance staff to report missing and incorrect document issues.
Qualifications:
Must have an Associates degree in Health Information Management OR a High School Diploma or equivalent with two (2) years of hospital-centered office experience.
Requires a broad knowledge of medical terminology, record management concepts, data integrity of patient related information, and HIM office applications.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software.
Must be detail- oriented, analytical, have strong organizational, writing/interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must work well independently with minimal supervision and have the ability to solve problems appropriately using job knowledge and current policies and procedures.
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred.
