A family in St Francis Wood is looking for an engaging family assistant to help drive their daughter from school in San Francisco to San Jose for swim practice or (depending on the day and parent availability) stay home with their son and help him with homework. When not doing the aforementioned, the FA will help with household tasks such as running errands, preparing dinner for the family, light tidying, and family laundry.

Their ideal candidate is experienced with kids with ADHD and can creatively help their son stay on task with homework. Ultimately the best person for them is upbeat and an experienced driver with a clean record and reliable vehicle for driving their children (the family will reimburse for mileage).

Preferred schedule:
• Monday, Thursday, Friday 2:30-7 p.m.
• Tuesday, Wednesday split shift 7-9 a.m. + 2:30-7 p.m. (family open to considering a full day 7a-7p on Tues and Wed depending on candidate's preference)

Experience Requirements

  • 2 years minimum experience working as a Family Assistant with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

  • Fluency in English

Qualifications

  • TB test/clearance
  • CPR Certified
  • Valid driver with clean record + reliable vehicle for work-related driving (family will reimburse for mileage)
  • Excellent communication

  • Creatively thinks of ways to engage children in their chores/homework

Responsibilities

  • Drive their daughter from school in SF to San Jose for swim practice or stay home w/ their son and help him w/ homework
  • Running errands (grocery shopping, dry cleaning, etc.)
  • Food prep / cooking simple dinner for the family
  • Laundry (kids, sheets and towels)
  • Light tidying
  • Organizing
  • Taking their son to activities / planning outings on days when he is home from school
