What you will do

Under specific direction is responsible for the sale of Johnson Controls service offerings to owners, primarily at the Director level. Promote Johnson Controls’ value proposition to building owners by providing technical solutions and operational expertise. Builds and manages long term customer relationships/partnerships with target and managed accounts. Responsible for customer satisfaction. Positions renewable service agreements as the foundation of managed account relationships. Performs the sales process to cultivate and manage long-term relationships, qualifying and closing new sales opportunities. Seeks to expand the depth and breadth of Johnson Controls offerings within an account.  

How you will do it

• With direction from the supervising manager, sells the Johnson Controls offerings persuasively, persistently and confidently to building owners at the D-level while reaching optimal profit levels.
• Focuses on enhancing existing buildings in order to enable building owners to achieve their business objectives.  
• Manages ongoing opportunities particularly focusing on selling services and retrofits.
• Sells renews and expands renewable service agreements, including multi-year agreements, to both new and existing customers.
• Establishes partnering relationships with the owner or owner representatives responsible for the decision-making process to drive the sale of Johnson Controls service offerings. 
• Actively listens to customers, asks probing questions to uncover concerns, and conducts on-site visits to understand their business and communicate effectively in their language.

What we look for

Required

• Associate/technical degree.
• Without a degree, ten years’ progressive sales experience in the HVAC building controls or mechanical systems.
• Five years’ sales experience in HVAC, building controls, or mechanical systems, having sold products or services.
• Demonstrates a commitment to integrity and quality in business. 
• Ability to influence account decision makers at all levels.
• Excellent initiative and interpersonal communications skills.  
• Organize and detail oriented.
• Experience using a CRM system (Workforce, etc.)

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of three years of related HVAC building control systems.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $70,600-$107,200 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take into account volume and margin on a project, quarterly, and annual basis. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
