SUMMARY

The Operations Coordinator for Medicare and Individual Health Insurance is a multifaceted role responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Medicare and Individual health insurance lines of business. This position serves as a central point of coordination across sales, service, compliance, finance, and carrier partners. Key responsibilities span policy management, commission reconciliation, HOUSE account auditing and ongoing system and data integrity initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytically minded, and detailed-oriented, thriving in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Support & Workflow Management:

  • Manage and track enrollment applications, policy changes, and service requests across Agency Book of Business 
  • Create and maintain accurate client records in all client management systems 
  • Resolve application discrepancies, pending items, and enrollment status issues in a timely manner  
  • Continuously update and reorganize Department folders to improve accessibility, workflow efficiency, and audit readiness in alignment with departmental goals 

Commission & Financial Reconciliation:

  • Assist the Operations Manager in reviewing monthly activity reports to identify missing or mis-posted commissions on a quarterly basis 
  • Report missing commissions and overrides to Carriers on a semi-annual basis, ensuring all discrepancies are documented and tracked to resolution 
  • Update commission schedules per carrier on an annual basis to reflect current compensation agreements 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience in health insurance operations, or a related insurance coordination role preferred.
  • Experience with commission reconciliation, financial auditing, or revenue reporting in an insurance or financial services environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict enrollment, financial reporting, and compliance deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with agents, carriers, compliance teams, and finance partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Healthcare Management, Finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

Required Education: College diploma (3-year degree)
