Job Summary
Under direction of the Manager of PET Production Chemistry, the PET Radiopharmaceutical Manufacturing Chemist I provides a variety of services to support the safe and efficient production and use of PET radiopharmaceuticals for research and clinical diagnostic use at MGH.The incumbent will be involved in all aspects of the day to day operation of the PET radiopharmaceutical production facility operating under cGMP, including radiochemical production area, analytical laboratory and clean room operations.
The PET Radiopharmaceutical manufacturing Chemist I is responsible for helping develop new PET radiopharmaceutical manufacturing processes and is expected to master these new processes prior to training peers.
The individual is also expected to assist in the optimization and process improvements to existing validated PET radiopharmaceuticals and works closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to properly document and implement the proposed changes in a cGMP compliant manner.
The PET Radiopharmaceutical manufacturing Chemist I will develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the technical and mechanical operation of the complex automated radiochemistry equipment, as they will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and performing routine maintenance on the equipment.
