The Epic AI Enablement Specialist maintains broad knowledge of Epic applications, workflows, and AI capabilities while coordinating cross-functional activities required to deploy and support Epic AI initiatives. The position assists with requirements gathering, workflow design, training documentation, adoption monitoring, governance preparation, and operational readiness activities to ensure Epic AI solutions deliver measurable value and align with organizational objectives.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High school diploma AND five (5) years of professional experience in healthcare information technology, Epic applications, clinical informatics, healthcare operations, product implementation, project coordination, or relatable IT experience
OR
2. Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Clinical Informatics, Nursing Informatics, Business Administration, or related field AND three (3) years of experience in healthcare information technology, Epic applications, clinical informatics, healthcare operations, product implementation, project coordination, or relatable IT experience.
3. Internal employees must meet all mandatory competencies in current position to qualify for promotion within IT.
To be completed as established by department: (Administered at Department level)
This position may require additional certification in support of the responsibilities of the position, which will be provided by WVUHS Information Technology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Current Epic certification(s) in one or more Epic applications.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience coordinating or supporting healthcare technology or Epic implementations involving multiple stakeholders and departments.
2. Experience coordinating healthcare technology implementations involving multiple stakeholders and departments.
3. Experience gathering business, operational, or clinical requirements and translating them into implementation plans.
4. Experience supporting adoption, training, change-management, or operational readiness activities.
5. Experience participating in governance, compliance, privacy, security, or risk management processes.
6. Experience supporting software development lifecycle, implementation lifecycle, or technology deployment processes.

1. Coordinate implementation and deployment activities for Epic AI products and capabilities across multiple operational and clinical areas.
2. Partner with Epic application teams, Informatics, operational leaders, product managers, and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of Epic AI solutions.
3. Assist with intake, discovery, workflow assessment, and requirements gathering activities for Epic AI initiatives.
4. Evaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities where Epic AI capabilities may improve efficiency, quality, or user experience.
5. Coordinate testing, validation, pilot activities and deployment readiness efforts for Epic AI products.
6. Develop implementation plans, communication plans, and operational support resources.
7. Facilitate stakeholder meetings, project workgroups, and cross-functional implementation activities.
8. Monitor adoption, utilization, workflow impact, and user feedback following implementation.
9. Ensure assigned products maintain compliance with established governance, monitoring, and review requirements throughout their lifecycle.
10. Maintain awareness of Epic AI roadmap capabilities and communicate opportunities to organizational stakeholders.
11. Serve as a subject matter resource regarding Epic AI capabilities, implementation approaches, and operational best practices.

2. Working knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI, automation, and responsible AI concepts.
3. Understanding of healthcare software lifecycle management, implementation methodologies, and operational readiness practices.
4. Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive implementation activities across multiple departments.
5. Ability to translate clinical, operational, technical, and business requirements into actionable implementation plans.
6. Strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills.
7. Understanding of healthcare privacy, security, compliance, governance, and risk management principles.
8. Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a complex healthcare environment.
