About the Portfolio

The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences. 

The Portfolio incorporates the following business units:  Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Vietnam Operations.

The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups.  The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe.  Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.

The Information Technology Services (ITS) function, provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. The Role

The Senior Developer (MuleSoft) is responsible for designing and developing high quality integration solutions. The role works closely with stakeholders to understand their business needs and requirements and aligns these with the University’s direction. They will be part of the MuleSoft development and support team.

They will be responsible for all aspects of integration using the MuleSoft integration platform and related tools and technologies.

This position requires practical commercial experience in integration development on Enterprise Integration Platforms (e.g. MuleSoft, Boomi, Workato, Oracle Service Bus, TIBCO, Red Hat Fuse ESB), along with carrying out technical leadership responsibilities in both project work and operational support.

They will come with excellent verbal and written communication skills to work well with Project Managers, Solution Architects, Integration Analysts, API Testers and business stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

  • 2 years of experience in the MuleSoft integration platform (MCD certification preferable) with 5 additional years of development experience.

  • Ability to drive Integration design and develop APIs based on business requirements

  • Strong Web Services development experience, a proven track record of developing public/enterprise APIs, strong SOA knowledge

  • Experience with integration and system testing, e.g. JUnit, SoapUI.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodology along with DevOps (CI/CD) will be highly regarded.

  • Exposure to AWS tools and datastores would be a plus

  • Experience with academic/enterprise systems (e.g. Peoplesoft, SAP, Workday) is a plus

  • Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills, including high quality technical documentation are required to succeed in this position

  • Proven ability to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines under pressure and manage complex tasks using  Agile delivery methodology
