Job Opportunity: Agrimensor (Land Surveyor)

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Agrimensor (Land Surveyor) to join our team. This role involves conducting precise land surveys, collecting and analyzing data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support engineering, construction, and development projects. The position offers a dynamic mix of office and fieldwork, providing an opportunity to contribute to impactful projects across the U.S., Caribbean, and Latin America.

Responsibilities

• Conduct land surveys, boundary measurements, and topographic data collection using advanced survey equipment and GIS software.
• Plan and execute field survey operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Interpret and create maps, technical plans, and legal boundary documentation based on survey data.
• Collaborate with engineers, urban planners, architects, and project managers for site development and construction planning.
• Provide data for legal and engineering purposes, assisting in the preparation of construction and engineering drawings.
• Ensure compliance with local and international surveying regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain, calibrate, and ensure the proper functioning of surveying instruments and tools.
• Generate detailed reports to support project requirements.
• Adapt to diverse work environments and meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in:
  • Operating and maintaining surveying instruments (e.g., total stations, GPS equipment).
  • Collecting, analyzing, and processing field data.
  • Drafting and interpreting engineering and survey reports or drawings.
• Experience with land development, infrastructure, or urban planning projects is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Microsoft tools (SharePoint, Teams, Office Suite).
• Knowledge of electronic data collection systems and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams and foster an inclusive work environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

Physical & Technical Requirements

• Ability to walk long distances and work on uneven terrains.
• Capability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
• Valid Puerto Rico Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with drone technology and aerial surveying methods.
• Certification or licensure in Land Surveying.
• Multilingual skills or familiarity with additional languages.

Day-to-Day

• Conduct field surveys and collect data using advanced equipment.
• Analyze and process survey data to create accurate maps and reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project planning and execution.
• Ensure all surveying activities comply with safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain and calibrate surveying tools and equipment.
• Prepare detailed documentation and reports for clients and stakeholders.
