Northrop Grumman is seeking Software Test Engineer for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Huntsville, AL.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Strategic Deterrent Systems Division (SDSD).

Basic Qualifications

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

• Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2027.

• Be majoring in or having majored in Computer Science or Softawre Engineering.
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
• Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
• Current active Secret Security Clearance or higher

Responsibilities may include:

• Intern candidates will be responsible for the development and execution of automated testing and metrics reporting. Intern candidates should possess knowledge and/or experience in the following areas:

• Software coding and scripting (Python, C++, Java)
• Code analysis tool(s) (GitLab)
• Data analysis tool(s) (Tableau)
• Software test automation tools/frameworks

Intern Pay Range for Huntsville, AL:

• Bachelor’s: $25.50- $32.00 per hour
• Master’s: $36.25- $39.00 per hour

At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.
