OVERVIEW

The Prime Business Trade Desk Support role is essential for providing day-to-day trade support across multiple business lines, with a primary focus on Cash Prime. This position involves close collaboration with trading desks, clients, IT support, and operations to manage trade activities, resolve issues, and ensure smooth operational execution. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to new initiatives and testing while gaining broad exposure in a flexible work environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, particularly within the Cash Prime business. They will demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with trading platforms and a proactive approach to problem-solving will be key to success in this role.

Contract Length: 12 months

Hours: 8 hours, flexible

Pay: W2: $40-42

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that all new trade bookings and trade amendments are accurately reflected on various trading platforms and updated to properly reflect life cycle events such as expiry, dividends, and corporate actions.
  • Liaise with the trading desk and bank stakeholders, including Accounting, P&L, Market Risk, VPC, and Audit, to ensure that new product setups and downstream flows are accurately established.
  • Act as a first line of defense to ensure that appropriate controls are in place to reduce operational risk and corroborate adherence to the Approved Product List.
  • Collaborate with IT and Product Development to automate transaction workflows and create robust trade booking and activity monitoring tools.
  • Participate in system migration and enhancement projects, conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) and assessing the impact of trade bookings on market risk and P&L.
  • Investigate and resolve position, trade, and payment discrepancies proactively.
  • Complete end-of-day processes, including completeness and reconciliation checks.
  • Ensure all procedure documents are current and accurately maintained.
  • Identify potential risk situations within Global Trade Support activities and escalate to management as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to directives, internal processes, and approvals to mitigate risk to the bank.
  • Understand regulatory and compliance requirements to ensure adherence as required.
  • Contribute to testing and updating contingency planning to support business continuity during critical events.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the operational effectiveness of assigned Global Trade Support activities.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service that builds trust through responsive, accurate, and knowledgeable support.
  • Support the day-to-day management and direction of a team by assisting in setting context, defining accountabilities, and establishing decision-making boundaries.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 3 years of business-related experience in the financial services industry.
  • A university degree or college diploma in a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of the Cash Prime business.
  • Experience with project management and testing, particularly in onboarding trading platforms.
  • Familiarity with Geneva and Bloomberg platforms.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets and regulatory oversight bodies.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, both independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Excellent investigation and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Good organizational skills and adaptability to a changing business environment.
  • Understanding of business unit risk and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of departmental systems and applications supporting a range of financial products.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Experience with trading platforms such as Geneva and Bloomberg.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions.

PREFERRED

  • Technical skills related to managing ambiguity.
  • Experience with VBA macros.
