Overview

LMI is seeking a Technical Integrator / Liaison Officer (LNO) to support a Department of War Mission Partner. This on-site role will serve as LMI’s primary interface to AFSOC stakeholders at Hurlburt Field Florida, synchronizing activity across pilots, operators, engineers, testers, program staff, and industry partners. The ideal candidate is a mission-focused integrator who can lead through influence, translate between operational and technical communities, and keep complex, multi-organization efforts aligned, moving, and accountable. This position is on-site at Hurlburt Field and requires an active Top-Secret security clearance Regular travel to test ranges, demonstrations, and supported unit locations is required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary on-site LMI technical integrator and liaison to AFSOC for robotic and autonomous systems efforts.
  • Build and maintain trusted working relationships with AFSOC headquarters, wings, groups, squadrons, group SORDs, pilots, operators, test organizations, engineers, acquisition personnel, program offices, and external partners.
  • Synchronize requirements, engineering, integration, test, training, fielding, and operational feedback across multiple organizations and concurrent lines of effort.
  • Translate operator needs, mission threads, and test observations into clear technical requirements, priorities, actions, and decision points for engineering and program teams.
  • Translate technical constraints, integration dependencies, risk, readiness, and test results into language accessible to pilots, operators, requirements leads, and senior decision-makers.
  • Develop and maintain integrated schedules, action trackers, decision logs, risk and issue registers, dependency maps, stakeholder matrices, and concise status reporting.
  • Plan and facilitate integrated product teams, technical interchange meetings, working groups, test planning events, test readiness reviews, demonstrations, after-action reviews, and senior leader updates.
  • Drive closure of cross-organizational actions by identifying owners, deadlines, dependencies, and required decisions; elevate blockers early and recommend practical paths forward.
  • Coordinate integration of air vehicles, payloads and effects, autonomy, navigation, command-and-control and datalinks, mission-planning software, ground-control systems, telemetry, and test infrastructure, as applicable.
  • Support the development and review of concepts of operation, mission threads, integration plans, test plans, evaluation criteria, range and safety coordination inputs, fielding plans, and training materials.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in requirements, configurations, interfaces, schedules, test assets, and operational priorities, ensuring stakeholders operate from a common and current understanding.
  • Coordinate LMI and partner support to test events and demonstrations, including personnel, equipment, data, logistics, site access, communications, and follow-on actions.
  • Capture user feedback and lessons learned and convert findings into prioritized technical, process, training, and operational improvements.
  • Brief program status, risks, decisions, and recommended actions to LMI and government leaders with clarity, candor, and the appropriate level of technical depth.
  • Operate effectively in a high-tempo, ambiguous environment where success depends on initiative, judgment, diplomacy, follow-through, and the ability to lead without formal authority.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Top-Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aviation, systems integration, program or project management, operations, or a related field.
  • Seven or more years of experience supporting UAS or autonomous systems, aviation systems integration, test and evaluation, technical program execution, requirements integration, or operational mission support.
  • Prior military service in aviation, special operations, UAS, fires, test, requirements, or a related mission area; or equivalent direct experience supporting AFSOC, USSOCOM, or another Special Operations Forces mission partner.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex technical efforts across multiple commands, operational units, program offices, vendors, and engineering disciplines.
  • Understanding of end-to-end system integration across air vehicles, payloads and effects, propulsion and power, navigation, autonomy, command-and-control and datalinks, software, ground control, and test instrumentation.
  • Ability to communicate credibly and productively with pilots, operators, group SORDs, requirements personnel, engineers, testers, acquisition professionals, program managers, and senior leaders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, including the demonstrated ability to build trust, adapt communication style, manage disagreement, and maintain productive relationships across diverse professional communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, manage competing priorities, resolve dependencies, and drive action closure without direct authority over all participants.
  • Strong written communication, briefing, meeting facilitation, and executive-level status reporting skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint, and with work-management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or comparable platforms.
  • Ability to work on-site at Hurlburt Field and Baker, Florida, and travel regularly to test ranges, demonstrations, and supported unit locations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a U.S. Air Force aviator, aircrew member, remotely piloted aircraft or UAS operator, weapons and tactics professional, test professional, requirements officer or noncommissioned officer, or comparable SOF operator or integrator.
  • Recent experience supporting AFSOC headquarters, an AFSOC wing, group, squadron, or associated test and tactics organization.
  • Direct experience working with AFSOC group SORDs and requirements, operations, test, tactics, or flight communities.
  • Experience conducting integration, experimentation, flight test, or operational evaluation activities within the Hurlburt Field, Eglin, or Baker operating environment.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense rapid acquisition, requirements development, systems engineering, airworthiness or flight-release, range safety, spectrum, weapons integration, cybersecurity, and developmental or operational test processes.
  • Project Management Professional, Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act, Certified Systems Engineering Professional, Agile, test and evaluation, FAA Part 107, or related professional certification.

 

Target salary range: $141,000 - $210,000
