Overview
In this role, you will provide high-quality financial support to the Nuclear Energy department. You will facilitate and analyze budgets, actuals, forecasts, processes, and objectives to ensure a consistent approach across the sector.
Your role
As part of the Nuclear Finance team, you will report to the Senior Analyst and will be responsible for:
- Participating in consolidated financial planning and analysis, comparing actuals to budgets and quarterly forecasts, and coordinating reporting with finance departments to ensure budgets and forecasts remain up to date and reliable.
- Acting as a financial business partner to operational teams and sector leaders to support decision-making and achievement of strategic objectives.
- Extracting, consolidating, and analyzing data from multiple financial and operational systems to provide relevant insights and support decision-making.
- Performing the sector’s monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries, invoice reviews, and comparison of results to forecasts.
- Supporting operations as needed, including developing processes, tools, and reports to assist with planning, forecasting, and performance monitoring activities.
- Analyzing sector performance against budget, forecasts, and prior years on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, explaining variances and outlooks.
- Preparing presentations for management as part of monthly, quarterly, and forecast processes.
- Participating in various special projects and ad hoc financial analyses and reports.
- Participating in various tasks related to financial reporting.
- Participating in the creation and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Building effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the different sectors and other finance departments within the company.
- Participating in external audits and IFCR processes.
- Participating in initiatives that are part of the finance strategy and that impact the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance function.
About you
- 0 to 2 years of experience in finance or accounting.
- Understanding of accounting processes and IFRS standards.
- Professional accounting designation is an asset.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookup functions, and pivot tables.
- Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret financial data.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Ability to manage deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and communicate constructively with stakeholders across the organization.
- Attention to detail and rigor in preparing and validating data.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Flexibility to adapt to job requirements.
- Bilingualism in French and English. *
*Member of the Canadian or Global Leadership Team: This position requires knowledge of a language other than French, namely English, as it involves collaboration with members of the Canadian or global leadership team located outside Québec.
