What You'll Do
As a Cath Lab Registered Nurse / CVIS II, you'll function as a key member of the procedural team, providing expert patient care throughout the cardiovascular procedure continuum.
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub, circulate, and monitor during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures
- Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after procedures
- Recognize and respond quickly to patient status changes and procedural complications
- Operate and troubleshoot specialized cath lab equipment and imaging systems
- Document procedural data, hemodynamic measurements, and patient outcomes
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and technologists to deliver exceptional care
- Provide patient and family education while ensuring comfort and support
- Assist with inventory management and procedural preparation
- Support quality initiatives, data collection, and regulatory requirements
- Serve as a mentor and preceptor for new caregivers
- Participate in staff education and skills development programs

Minimum Qualifications
- Current RN license or qualifying CVIS credentials
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification (or obtained within 3 months of hire for adult facilities)
- RCIS, RCES, ARRT-CI, ARRT-VI, or RN with relevant cardiovascular experience (required beginning March 1, 2026)
- Demonstrated competency in invasive cardiovascular procedures
- Minimum 12 hours of continuing education annually
- Fluoroscopy Operator Certification (Colorado requirement)
- Additional certifications as required by state regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a health science-related field OR
- Graduate of an accredited program in: Cardiovascular Technology Radiologic Technology Respiratory Therapy
- One year of invasive cardiovascular or electrophysiology experience

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
- For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
