Description
The Youth Development Specialist oversees safety, administrative compliance, branch programming, and front desk operations. This position requires working with large groups of youth, duties include but are not limited to adhering to all policies, procedures, and processes; safety of members, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities; administrative compliance and reporting with accuracy; membership tracking; implementing assigned programming and activities; provide excellent customer service; build relationships; and be a positive role model.
At the branches and school sites, youth receive targeted services in a safe, supportive environment from staff who believe in the organization’s mission. The Club experience focuses on three priority outcomes: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Positive Citizenship.
Requirements
Education and work experience requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
- Experience working with youth
Minimum Qualifications :
- Must have a work-study award from UTA Office of Financial Aid.
- Must provide work-study eligibility form from MyMav to the Supervisor
- Must provide a copy of your class schedule
- Available to work between the hours of 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm Monday – Friday during the school year
- Ability to be a positive role model
- Ability to establish rapport and build relationships
- Ability to relate to at-risk youth
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Must be able to pass all required background screens and drug screens at any time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual
- Knowledge of various program areas such as healthy lifestyles, culture and arts, academics, social development, and teen interests
- Work experience or program knowledge of the Boys & Girls Club Movement (national and/or local Club)
Pay & Benefits:
- Pay: $14.05 per hour
