Summary:
In this role, you will lead complex indirect spend advisory engagements, supporting aggregation groups across multiple healthcare organizations, supplier relationships, contracts, and spend categories. You will provide strategic consulting, advanced analytics, project management, and sourcing expertise to identify opportunities, optimize contract performance, and deliver measurable client value. You will collaborate with clients, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to drive initiatives from analysis through implementation, strengthen client relationships, and ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple concurrent client engagements and initiatives, developing and executing project plans that align with timelines, budgets, performance expectations, and measurable value.
- Analyze complex spend, contract, supplier, and market data to identify opportunities, develop strategic recommendations, and communicate actionable insights to client leadership.
- Manage assigned supplier contracts and relationships, monitoring pricing, utilization, renewals, performance, compliance, and adoption to optimize portfolio value.
- Coordinate contract renewals, amendments, supplier negotiations, pricing improvements, and cost-mitigation strategies in collaboration with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, including requests for proposal, supplier-initiated offers, market assessments, and evaluations of new categories and portfolio growth opportunities.
- Facilitate client leadership meetings, supplier business reviews, governance discussions, and issue-resolution activities, translating recommendations into documented actions and measurable outcomes.
- Oversee client onboarding, contract activation, and implementation activities, coordinating required documentation, education, and adoption strategies to improve utilization and compliance.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, manage expectations, identify additional advisory opportunities, and provide guidance to less experienced consultants.
- Collaborate across the Indirect Spend Advisory team to develop reusable tools, analytical frameworks, reporting standards, and process improvements while supporting changing client and project demands.
- Leverage approved technology, analytics, and artificial intelligence tools to improve workflow efficiency, strengthen client deliverables, and support informed decision-making while safeguarding confidential information and validating outputs.
Qualifications:
- Relevant degree preferred.
- 5 or more years of relevant experience required.
- Experience in consulting, healthcare, indirect spend management, strategic sourcing, supplier management, or purchased services preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex client initiatives from discovery through implementation, delivering measurable business outcomes.
- Experience supporting healthcare organizations, health systems, hospital networks, or complex multi-site environments preferred.
- Knowledge of supplier negotiations, contract management, sourcing events, requests for proposal, contract activation, and adoption improvement.
- Strong analytical capabilities, including spend analysis, benchmarking, financial modeling, data visualization, and business intelligence tools.
- Excellent project management, executive presentation, relationship management, and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior-level clients and suppliers.
- Experience applying artificial intelligence tools to improve workflows, analysis, or project deliverables while maintaining data confidentiality and validating outputs.
- Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients’ needs and timetables.
Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.This position is also incentive eligible.
