Senior Network Architect
Location: Remote – United States
Job Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Senior Network Architect will serve as a technical subject matter expert responsible for designing, architecting, and leading complex enterprise network and security initiatives across on-premises, cloud, data center, and hybrid environments. The role will define network standards, drive modernization, and provide technical leadership aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect scalable, secure, and highly available LAN, WAN, data center, cloud, and hybrid network solutions.
- Define network architecture standards, best practices, technology roadmaps, and reference architectures.
- Lead network transformation, modernization, migration, and optimization initiatives.
- Provide expert knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN, VXLAN/EVPN, VPN, QoS, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Design and support Azure/cloud networking and hybrid connectivity solutions.
- Lead complex network troubleshooting and provide senior-level technical guidance.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions based on security, scalability, performance, and cost.
- Collaborate with Security, Cloud, Infrastructure, Application, and business teams.
- Manage relationships with network vendors, carriers, and technology partners.
- Develop architecture diagrams, technical standards, design documents, and implementation guidelines.
- Mentor network engineering teams and provide technical leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 12–15+ years of experience in enterprise networking and network security.
- Strong experience in LAN/WAN, cloud networking, data center, SD-WAN, and hybrid environments.
- Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, network security, and enterprise network architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Azure or other major cloud platforms.
- Experience leading large-scale network projects and strategic technology initiatives.
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Certifications
- CCIE / CCNP or equivalent
- Microsoft Azure networking certifications
- AWS or Google Cloud networking certifications
- Other relevant networking or security certifications
