GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Assistant (Driver) is responsible for safely operating company vehicles as per instructions from the Head of Services ensuring they are well-maintained, clean, and serviced on time. Duties include regularly updating vehicle mileage in the logbook, maintaining the auto-service office, and adhering to safety standards by following Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations. The Driver is also expected to perform additional tasks as assigned by management, contributing to the overall smooth operation of the company’s transportation and service processes.



JOB DESCRIPTION

1.  Patient Transportation & Transfer


  • Pick up patients from airport, ferry terminal, transport hubs or other designated locations.
  • Transport patients to the KPJ hospital or healthcare facility requested/assigned.
  • Ensure safe, comfortable and punctual transportation.
  • Assist with luggage/personal belongings where appropriate.
  • Ensure proper handover to hospital/Health Tourism personnel.

 

2.  Patient Service & Frontline Support

  • Welcome and assist patients upon arrival.
  • Provide courteous and professional service.
  • Assist patients with basic directions/information related to their hospital visit.
  • Maintain confidentiality and patient privacy.

 

3.  Transportation Coordination

  • Coordinate pick-up/drop-off arrangements with Health Tourism team, hospital and patient.
  • Confirm flight/ferry arrival details and transportation schedule.
  • Select appropriate routes and manage delays/traffic situations.
  • Update relevant personnel if there are changes or delays.

 

4.  Vehicle Operation & Maintenance

  • Drive company vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Ensure vehicle is clean, presentable and ready for patient transportation.
  • Conduct basic vehicle checks.
  • Ensure servicing/maintenance is carried out according to schedule.

 

5.  Documentation & Logbook

  • Update vehicle mileage/logbook after each trip.
  • Maintain accurate transportation records.
  • Record relevant pick-up/drop-off details and trip information.
  • Submit required reports to the Health Tourism team.

 

6.  Safety, Emergency & OSH

  • Comply with traffic laws, company procedures and OSH requirements.
  • Take reasonable care for own safety, patient safety and other road users.
  • Escalate accidents, vehicle breakdowns, patient emergencies or other critical situations immediately.
  • Assist in coordinating emergency support when required.

 

7.  Other Duties

  • Support Health Tourism activities and patient-related arrangements.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Manager/Management.

Education : 

  • Minimum SPM holder.

Knowledge and Experiences:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or hospitality.

 

Skills & Competencies:

 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
  • Proficient in English and Malay; other language skills are an advantage.
  • Pleasant personality, professional appearance, and customer-oriented mindset.
  • Willing to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays, if necessary.
