Integrated Specialty Coverages, LLC (ISC) is a growth stage technology and data-driven commercial MGA and insurance wholesaler leading innovation in the market.
Backed by one of the leading private equity firms, Onex Partners, and led by a forward-thinking management team, ISC is combining the worlds of insurance and technology to create an Insurtech powerhouse. As a leading online distributor of insurance products for a range of industries and “Main Street USA”, we are looking for the right people to help us in our mission of achieving exponential growth. We strive to be the number one place to go for brokers and agents to source insurance. To accomplish this, we’re building a digitally focused team that deeply understands the intersection between user experience, data, and AI/ML to optimize the way we engage with our customers and partners.
Job Summary:
What Makes This Role Different? CCIS believes great salespeople should spend their time selling. That's why CCIS invests significantly in marketing and lead generation to provide our agents with a steady pipeline of inbound opportunities. CCIS has done business with over 75,000+ licensed contractors, many of whom have been with the company for more than 10 years. While networking and relationship building are always encouraged, this role is designed to maximize your time helping customers and closing business, not chasing cold leads.
The Commercial Insurance Renewal Agent is a production-focused sales and account management role responsible for retaining and growing an established book of commercial insurance customers, with a primary focus on General Liability insurance for contractors.
You will own the renewal process for your assigned customers, proactively managing upcoming renewals from initial outreach through completion. This includes gathering underwriting information, reviewing coverage and pricing, presenting renewal options, overcoming retention challenges, and guiding customers through the renewal process.
Success in this role is driven by retention, premium production, and account growth. In addition to retaining existing business, you will identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships by connecting contractors with additional CCIS insurance and surety products that fit their business needs.
This position begins fully onsite in our Sacramento office. Following successful completion of the probationary period, employees are eligible for a hybrid schedule with one work-from-home day per week.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage an assigned book and pipeline of upcoming General Liability renewals from initial outreach through completed renewal
- Proactively contact existing customers regarding upcoming renewals, coverage needs, underwriting requirements, pricing, and payment
- Review existing policies and customer information to identify changes that may impact renewal eligibility, coverage, or pricing
- Gather and evaluate underwriting information needed to prepare accurate renewal options
- Work with insurance carriers and wholesale partners to obtain renewal terms and satisfy underwriting requirements
- Present renewal options to customers and guide them through coverage, pricing, and payment decisions
- Process renewal payments and complete the necessary steps to successfully bind and renew coverage
- Retain existing customers by identifying concerns, addressing renewal obstacles, and finding appropriate solutions within available carrier options
- Identify opportunities for additional CCIS products, including Workers' Compensation insurance and surety bonds
- Assist customers with renewal-related questions across CCIS product lines as part of the broader Renewal team
- Maintain consistent and organized follow-up throughout the renewal cycle
- Maintain accurate customer, policy, renewal, and activity records within CCIS systems
- Work closely with the Service team when a customer requires servicing outside the normal renewal process
- Meet and exceed defined retention, premium production, activity, and other performance objectives
- Contribute to the continued improvement of renewal workflows, customer experience, and team processes
Minimum Qualifications:
- Commercial insurance experience strongly preferred, particularly experience with General Liability insurance
- Candidates without direct commercial insurance experience may be considered with relevant insurance, sales, underwriting, account management, or similar experience
- Working knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting concepts, and carrier processes preferred
- Active California Property and Casualty license preferred; candidates without an active license must be willing and able to obtain one, with licensing support provided by CCIS
- Strong sales and customer-retention mindset
- Ability to manage a high-volume renewal pipeline and prioritize accounts based on timing and customer needs
- Strong follow-up habits and the ability to manage multiple customer conversations simultaneously
