Now Hiring: Welder/Fabricator – 1st Shift

Structural Steel & Aluminum Fabrication

Openwork is hiring an experienced Welder/Fabricator for an established industrial manufacturing company in Oklahoma City, OK 73179.

This hands-on position focuses on structural fitting, fabrication, blueprint reading, and welding steel and aluminum components using detailed engineering drawings.

Qualified candidates must have at least 5 years of welding and fabrication experience, including strong hands-on fitting skills, blueprint interpretation, and experience with multiple welding processes. This position is fabrication-heavy, requiring candidates who can complete projects from initial drawings through fitting, fabrication, and final welding.

Position Details:

  • Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73179.
  • Pay: $23–$27/hr, based on experience.
  • Schedule: Mon–Fri, 6:00 AM–3:30 PM.

  • Overtime: As needed based on production demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fit, fabricate, and weld structural steel and aluminum components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and detailed engineering drawings.
  • Measure, cut, prepare, and position materials for fabrication.

  • Build equipment and structural components according to specifications.
  • Inspect completed fabrication and welds for quality and accuracy.
  • Follow welding procedures, production requirements, and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of welding and fabrication experience required.
  • Strong hands-on structural fitting and fabrication experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with GMAW (MIG), SMAW (Stick), FCAW (Flux-Core), and GTAW (TIG) welding processes.
  • Experience fabricating and welding structural steel and aluminum.
  • Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit, and prepare materials.
  • Ability to complete fabrication projects from drawings through final welding.
  • Ability to communicate and understand English.
  • Welding certification preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and workplace safety.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Industrial manufacturing and fabrication environment.
  • Regular work with structural steel and aluminum.
  • Hands-on use of welding, cutting, and fabrication equipment.
  • Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and physical activity.
  • Ability to safely handle and position fabrication materials.
  • Follow required PPE, welding safety, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • $23–$27 per hour, based on experience.
  • Full-time opportunity.
  • Consistent Monday–Friday, first-shift schedule.
  • Hands-on structural steel and aluminum fabrication.
