This is a full-time, W-2 employment opportunity supporting students in an in-person educational setting. The position is projected to begin September 14, 2026, and offers a consistent weekday schedule with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' communication and educational success.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Providing in-person American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services for students in an educational setting
• Facilitating communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and teachers, peers, school staff, and other individuals
• Accurately interpreting spoken language into ASL and ASL into spoken English while maintaining the intended meaning and context
• Supporting student access to classroom instruction, educational activities, meetings, and other school-related interactions
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional standards and ethical guidelines
• Collaborating with educators and other members of the educational team to support student communication needs
• Preparing for assignments by reviewing relevant educational materials and terminology as appropriate
• Participating in meetings or professional development activities as required

Specific responsibilities may vary based on the assigned student(s), school location, and program needs.

Qualifications

• Meet all applicable state requirements for Sign Language Interpreter certification or licensure
• National certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) preferred
• Strong receptive and expressive American Sign Language (ASL) skills
• Ability to accurately interpret spoken and signed communication while maintaining context, meaning, and confidentiality
• Strong memory, attention to detail, and communication skills
• Commitment to ongoing continuing education and professional development
