Description
Our client is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor with strong visual storytelling skills and experience producing engaging long-form video content.
Location: Harare
Type: Full-time
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Editing engaging and production-ready long-form videos for YouTube and digital platforms.
- Reviewing scripts, voiceovers and briefs and selecting appropriate visual assets.
- Sourcing footage, images, graphics, music and sound effects to support video content.
- Ensuring videos meet required standards for pacing, audio, visuals, branding and accuracy.
- Editing content covering UK and US current affairs, international news, economic and social issues, faith-based content and other topics.
- Using professional editing software and AI-assisted tools to support the production process.
- Reviewing completed videos, making corrections and incorporating feedback.
- Meeting production targets and deadlines while maintaining quality.
The ideal candidate should have:
- Strong video editing and visual storytelling skills.
- Experience producing long-form content, preferably for YouTube.
- Good attention to detail and an understanding of pacing, audio and visual composition.
- An interest in current affairs, news, social issues and/or faith-based content.
- Good research and visual verification skills.
- Knowledge of copyright and responsible use of digital assets.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted editing tools is desirable.
- The ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
- A diploma or degree in Film, Video Production, Media, Multimedia, Communications or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in video editing, post-production, digital media or a similar role.
- Proficiency in professional video editing software.
- Experience editing YouTube or long-form digital content will be an advantage.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating video editing and visual storytelling skills is highly desirable.
