Our client specializes in the manufacture of high-precision machined components, precision sheet metal fabrication, and mechatronic assemblies for the semiconductor and industrial equipment industries. The company provides precision engineering and contract manufacturing solutions to customers across Asia, Europe, and North America.
Job Purpose
To plan and coordinate production activities to ensure customer requirements are met on time, while maintaining optimum material availability, production capacity, and inventory levels. The role works closely with Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, Engineering, Quality, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth production flow.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer demand, sales orders, forecast, and production capacity.
- Schedule production orders according to delivery requirements, machine capacity, manpower, and production priorities.
- Monitor actual production progress against the production plan and follow up on delays or shortages.
- Coordinate with Production to adjust schedules when there are urgent orders, machine breakdowns, manpower shortages, or other production constraints.
- Ensure production plans are achievable and aligned with customer delivery requirements.
2. Material Planning
- Review production requirements and ensure sufficient raw materials, components, and packaging materials are available.
- Prepare material requirements and coordinate with Purchasing on procurement plans and delivery schedules.
- Monitor material shortages and follow up with Purchasing and suppliers to avoid production disruption.
- Identify potential material constraints and escalate critical shortages to the relevant departments.
3. Inventory Control
- Monitor raw material, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory levels.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels based on production requirements and company targets.
- Coordinate with Warehouse to ensure inventory records are accurate and materials are available for production.
- Monitor slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory and highlight potential issues to management.
- Support stock-taking and inventory reconciliation activities when required.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Production Planning, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Fresh Graduate is highly recommended.
- Fast Leaner.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
