Join DayOne – Shaping the Future of Data Infrastructure

DayOne is a global leader in the development and operation of high-performance data centers. As one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry, we’ve built a robust presence across Asia and Europe — and we’re just getting started.

As we expand into new international markets, we’re looking for talented, driven individuals to join us on this exciting journey. This is more than a job — it’s an opportunity to be a key contributor to our dynamic team and help shape the future of global data infrastructure.

If you're passionate about innovation, technology, and growth, we invite you to be part of DayOne’s next chapter.

Role Overview

The Regional Tax Manager will be responsible for defining and executing DAYONE's tax strategy across Europe. This role combines strategic advisory responsibilities with operational oversight, supporting business expansion, entity structuring, tax governance, and cross-border transactions.

Working closely with Finance, Legal, Corporate Development, senior business leaders, and external tax advisors, the successful candidate will provide expert guidance on tax matters relating to multi-billion-dollar investments and international operations. The role requires an individual who can work independently, navigate complex international tax issues, and coordinate tax activities across multiple European countries.

This position will initially report to the Finance leadership team and collaborate extensively with both internal stakeholders and external tax providers across the region.

This role operates within a high-growth business environment where priorities can evolve rapidly based on expansion activities, transactions, and strategic initiatives. Workload levels may fluctuate throughout the year and require flexibility, strong prioritization skills, and the ability to operate independently while managing multiple projects across jurisdictions.

Why Join DAYONE

  • Play a key role in shaping tax strategy across multiple European jurisdictions rather than focusing solely on domestic tax matters.
  • Support significant international expansion initiatives, including entry into new European markets.
  • Gain exposure to multi-billion-dollar investments, cross-border transactions, and complex entity structuring projects.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and influence strategic business decisions.
  • Join a high-growth organization where tax is viewed as a strategic business partner rather than a purely compliance-focused function.
  • Take ownership of a highly visible role with meaningful impact on the company's long-term growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement DAYONE's European tax strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and expansion plans.
  • Advise on the tax implications of acquisitions, investments, financing structures, and business expansion activities across Europe.
  • Design and maintain tax-efficient corporate and investment structures across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate tax activities across European countries and manage relationships with external tax advisors and service providers.
  • Communicate business requirements and strategic objectives effectively to local-country tax firms and advisors.
  • Oversee regional tax compliance activities, ensuring accurate and timely completion of filing obligations through external providers where appropriate.
  • Lead and coordinate transfer pricing governance and documentation in accordance with OECD guidelines and local regulations.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulatory developments across Europe, assessing the impact on DAYONE's operations and providing practical recommendations.
  • Conduct technical research on international tax regimes, tax treaties, withholding taxes, and cross-border business activities.
  • Support the preparation and review of tax provisions, tax reporting, and effective tax rate management as part of the financial reporting process.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks while driving opportunities for optimization and improved tax efficiency.
  • Manage tax audits, tax authority engagements, and related inquiries across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Build and leverage strong relationships with external tax specialists and advisory firms.
  • Drive continuous improvement of tax policies, controls, governance frameworks, and operational processes.
  • Support strategic initiatives and other ad hoc projects as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Tax, Fiscal Law or a related discipline.
  • Recognized tax qualification and strong tax technical background (RB, NOB membership, or equivalent international qualification).
  • Dutch tax qualification, tax law background, or equivalent professional standing enabling representation and advisory work on Dutch tax matters.
  • Strong working knowledge of direct and indirect tax (VAT), transfer pricing, and international tax developments (e.g. Pillar Two, DAC6).
  • Dutch fiscal residency.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in international, regional, or cross-border tax roles.
  • Previous experience within a Big Four firm.
  • Proven experience developing and executing international tax strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and managing tax matters across multiple European countries.
  • Strong expertise in corporate tax, international tax, transfer pricing, and tax compliance.
  • Experience supporting large-scale investments, complex business structures, or significant cross-border transactions.
  • Strong understanding of international tax principles, tax treaties, and European tax frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior business leaders.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a multinational corporate tax function.
  • Exposure to digital infrastructure, technology, telecommunications, real estate, or data center sectors.
  • Experience supporting businesses undergoing rapid international expansion.
  • SAP experience.
  • Additional European language skills.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to shape tax strategy within a rapidly expanding international organization.
  • Exposure to complex cross-border tax matters and major investment projects.
  • Significant visibility and influence across the business.
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced environment.
  • Professional growth and development opportunities.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Flexible hybrid working model.
