Job Description:
This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, coding solutions, unit testing, and ensuring the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces. The Operational Intelligence team within Consumer Technology consists of high-performing engineers who deliver enterprise observability and monitoring solutions leveraging Dynatrace and related Operational Intelligence platforms. We are seeking a Dynatrace Engineer / Architect  with a strong systems engineering and cloud automation background to help drive our enterprise observability platform and monitoring strategy.


Role Overview

The successful candidate will join the Operational Intelligence Monitoring Tools – Dynatrace Engineering Team as an individual contributor and will be responsible for designing, managing, expanding, upgrading, automating, and optimizing the Dynatrace platform and its integrations across the enterprise. This hands-on role requires expertise in observability architecture, cloud monitoring, automation, platform engineering, and enterprise-scale monitoring solutions. The candidate will drive implementation using Lean Agile methodologies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Dynatrace platform infrastructure, including Managed/ActiveGate architecture, cluster performance, scalability, resiliency, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop and execute enterprise observability strategies across on-premises, AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.
  • Design and maintain automation solutions using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies such as Git, Terraform and Ansible
  • Design and implement monitoring integrations with AWS services, Azure Monitor, cloud-native services, enterprise APIs, and third-party platforms.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to automate onboarding, monitoring configuration, alerting, and deployment processes.
  • Design solutions utilizing API-based integrations, automation frameworks, and observability data pipelines.
  • Partner with application, infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to implement monitoring and observability best practices.
  • Support integrations involving Dynatrace, Cribl, Syslog platforms, ServiceNow, API gateways, event management platforms, and enterprise telemetry solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex platform, performance, connectivity, instrumentation, and data-ingestion issues across distributed environments.
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, operational procedures, support runbooks, and engineering standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation and AI-assisted engineering practices.
  • Contribute to platform governance, monitoring standards, and enterprise observability roadmaps.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and administering enterprise monitoring, observability, or APM platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Dynatrace, including:
    • OneAgent deployment and management
    • ActiveGate architecture and administration
    • Synthetic Monitoring
    • Application Performance Monitoring (APM)
    • Infrastructure Monitoring
  • Strong understanding of enterprise observability concepts, distributed tracing, metrics, logs, events, and telemetry pipelines.
  • Experience integrating monitoring platforms with AWS and Azure cloud services.
  • Experience developing automation solutions using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar technologies.
  • Ability to program in two or more scripting/programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java, JavaScript, C#, or C++.
  • Strong Linux and Windows system administration background.
  • Experience working with REST APIs and API-driven platform integrations.
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices and automation frameworks.
  • Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve engineering productivity.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to independently design and implement innovative solutions for complex operational challenges.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience architecting and supporting large-scale enterprise observability platforms supporting thousands of applications and systems.
  • Experience with Dynatrace Managed platform administration and upgrades.
  • Experience integrating Dynatrace with AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Azure Event Hub, Azure Automation, ServiceNow, and enterprise event-management platforms.
  • Experience designing automation using Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
  • Experience with enterprise API gateways and integration technologies.
  • Experience designing monitoring solutions for hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.
  • Experience with networking concepts, firewall connectivity, SSL/TLS certificates, proxy architecture, and secure enterprise integrations.
  • Experience operating in secure, highly regulated, multi-data-center environments.
  • Experience with complementary monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, AppDynamics, Azure Monitor, or CloudWatch.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Dynatrace Associate, Professional, or equivalent observability certifications preferred.

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$88,800.00 - $144,800.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan.
