Position Overview

The Cook I is responsible for preparing and executing high-quality menu items while maintaining the culinary standards of Boar’s Head Resort. This position requires strong cooking techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage assigned kitchen stations in a fast-paced dining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes, presentation standards, and portion requirements.
• Independently manage assigned cooking stations, including sauté, grill, and garde manger.
• Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, temperature, and presentation.
• Organize and maintain mise en place to support efficient kitchen operations.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
• Collaborate with chefs and culinary team members to ensure timely and efficient service.
• Assist with training and mentoring less-experienced culinary team members.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Previous professional culinary experience with strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
• Ability to independently manage a cooking station during busy meal periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to culinary excellence.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two or more years of professional culinary experience.
• Previous experience in an upscale restaurant, fine-dining establishment, or luxury resort.
• Culinary degree or formal culinary training.
