Description
Senior Full Stack Engineer - Agentic AI Applications (Azure)
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with deep expertise in the Microsoft Azure ecosystem to design and build next-generation applications powered by AI agents. You will own features end-to-end, from rich, responsive front-end experiences to scalable back-end services and agent orchestration layers, building applications for agents, driven by agents, or consumed by agents. This is a hands-on role combining strong full stack engineering fundamentals with cutting-edge agentic AI development on Azure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build full stack, production-grade applications based on AI agents and multi-agent architectures.
- Develop modern, responsive front-ends using React, Angular, or Next.js with TypeScript, including conversational UIs, streaming responses, and real-time agent interaction experiences (SignalR/WebSockets).
- Build robust back-end services and APIs (REST, gRPC, MCP) in C#/.NET and/or Python (FastAPI) enabling agent-to-agent and agent-to-system communication.
- Develop agentic workflows using frameworks such as Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, LangChain/LangGraph, or Azure AI Agent Service (Azure AI Foundry).
- Integrate LLMs via Azure OpenAI Service, including prompt engineering, function/tool calling, RAG pipelines, and streaming token responses to the UI.
- Architect cloud-native solutions using Azure services: Azure Functions, App Service, AKS, Azure Container Apps, Static Web Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, Cosmos DB, and Azure AI Search.
- Design data models and persistence layers across SQL (Azure SQL) and NoSQL (Cosmos DB) stores, including vector search for embeddings.
- Implement secure, observable, and cost-optimized systems using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Key Vault, Entra ID, and Managed Identities.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, including infrastructure-as-code (Bicep/Terraform).
- Lead technical design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive engineering best practices across the stack.
- Collaborate with product, design, and data science teams to translate business requirements into intuitive agentic experiences.
- Ensure responsible AI practices: content safety, guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and human-in-the-loop UX design.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional full stack engineering experience, with at least 3 years on the Azure stack.
- Strong front-end proficiency: React/Angular/Next.js, TypeScript, HTML5/CSS3, state management (Redux, Zustand, or similar), and responsive/accessible UI design.
- Strong back-end proficiency in C#/.NET and/or Python; solid grasp of distributed systems and microservices.
- Hands-on experience building applications with LLMs and agent frameworks (Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, LangGraph, or similar).
- Experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry / AI Studio, and vector databases (Azure AI Search, Cosmos DB vector search, etc.).
- Deep knowledge of core Azure services: compute (Functions, AKS, Container Apps, Static Web Apps), messaging (Service Bus, Event Grid), storage, and networking fundamentals.
- Proven experience with RAG architectures, embeddings, prompt orchestration, and tool/function calling.
- Experience building real-time features (WebSockets, SignalR, Server-Sent Events) for streaming AI/agent responses.
- Strong understanding of authentication/authorization (OAuth2, Entra ID/MSAL) and secure full stack development practices.
- Experience with DevOps practices: CI/CD, IaC, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), automated testing across front-end (Jest, Playwright/Cypress) and back-end (xUnit, pytest).
