What you'll do...
The Digital Coach is an operational and people leader responsible for driving the overall success, efficiency, and customer satisfaction of the store’s digital fulfillment operations (Online Pickup & Delivery / Delivery from Store). This role oversees end-to-end digital operations—including picking, staging, dispensing, and delivery staging—while actively recruiting, developing, and leading a high-performing team of digital associates. As an integral member of the store’s salaried management team, the Digital Coach champions Walmart’s core values, promotes continuous learning and technology adoption, and ensures strict adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards.Key Responsibilities
1. Talent Acquisition, Development & Team Leadership
- Recruit & Staff: Proactively recruit, interview, hire, and onboard qualified associates to fulfill staffing needs and support ongoing digital sales growth.
- Train & Mentor: Oversee structured training programs for digital processes, equipment handling (handhelds, carts, totes), quality picking, cold chain compliance, and fast, friendly dispensing.
- Performance & Supervision: Assign daily duties, conduct coaching sessions, provide actionable feedback, and administer performance appraisals.
- Culture of Belonging: Foster an inclusive work environment where every associate feels seen, valued, supported, and motivated to succeed; actively champion the Open Door Policy.
- Recognition & Retention: Regularly acknowledge associate milestones, celebrate operational wins, and create clear development pathways for frontline associates.
2. Operational Planning & Execution
- Daily Workflow Management: Coordinate, complete, and oversee all shift-level digital fulfillment activities, ensuring orders are picked, prepped, and dispensed within target cycle times.
- Goal Setting & Accountability: Set clear shift objectives, track progress across key digital metrics (e.g., On-Time Pick [OTP], First-Time Pick Rate [FTPR], Pre-Sub, Dispense Wait Times), and hold team members accountable for results.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with store coaches and team leads across Fresh, Consumables, and General Merchandise to resolve on-floor availability bottlenecks and improve inventory accuracy.
- Process Improvement: Identify root causes of operational friction, eliminate waste, and implement continuous improvements to streamline the digital fulfillment pipeline.
3. Customer Experience & Business Acumen
- Customer-First Mindset: Deliver an exceptional digital shopping experience that adapts seamlessly to how, where, and when customers shop.
- EDLP & EDLC Stewardship: Apply Everyday Low Price (EDLP) and Everyday Low Cost (EDLC) business principles to all operational plans, balancing cost control with service speed.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage digital reporting tools, metrics dashboards, and analytical insights to anticipate peak order volumes, allocate labor efficiently, and balance short- and long-term priorities.
4. Ethics, Compliance & Regenerative Operations
- Policy Compliance: Ensure total compliance with company policies, wage and hour guidelines, associate safety standards, and food safety/cold chain protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in retail, digital fulfillment, e-commerce operations, logistics, or related environment (or successful completion of a company leadership development program).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, manage competing priorities, and lead diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Retail Management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of management experience in high-volume omni-channel retail or digital order fulfillment.
- Strong track record of talent development, associate retention, and key performance indicator (KPI) turnaround.
- Proficiency in digital retail inventory systems, handheld terminals, and data analytics tools.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Ability to navigate the sales floor, backroom, and dispensing areas continuously throughout an assigned shift.
- Ability to occasionally lift, push, and maneuver totes, merchandise, and staging equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts—including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays—to support digital retail operations and peak customer demand windows.

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
