Position Summary:

The DC Engineering Intern will support the Manufacturing Engineering team in its continuous effort to improve operational efficiency, product quality, and overall manufacturing performance. This role provides hands-on exposure to manufacturing processes, process improvement initiatives, and engineering projects within a dynamic production environment. The intern will work closely with engineering and operations personnel to identify opportunities for improvement, collect and analyze data, implement solutions, and present findings that contribute to ABEC's operational excellence objectives.


Responsibilities: 

  • Support projects focused on improving productivity, quality, safety, and cost efficiency. 
  • Identify and implement manufacturing process improvements and best practices. 
  • Assist with researching, testing, and improving manufacturing methods and equipment. 
  • Analyze workflows and recommend solutions to increase efficiency. 
  • Support facility layout and workspace optimization initiatives. 
  • Collect and analyze production data to support continuous improvement efforts. 
  • Prepare project documentation, reports, and work instructions. 
  • Participate in project meetings and provide status updates. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve manufacturing challenges. 
  • Present project findings and recommendations to leadership. 
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Execute other tasks as assigned. 

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Ability to carry a project from conception to production.
