Description
At WALCO Tool & Engineering, our machinists play an important role in producing high-precision parts for our customers. We're looking for an experienced CNC Horizontal Machinist who takes ownership of their work, understands the importance of quality, and knows how to keep production moving in a clean, organized, climate-controlled shop.
Your Responsibilities as a CNC Machinist:
- Set up and operate CNC horizontal machining centers
- Complete a variety of machining operations, including contour milling, drilling, boring and tapping
- Interpret engineering blueprints and job specifications
- Make necessary offsets and adjustments to maintain required dimensions and tolerances
- Use precision measuring equipment to verify completed work
- Perform in-process and final inspections of your own parts
- May complete multiple setups throughout the day
- Maintain an efficient workflow and keep equipment operating productively
What You Bring as a CNC Machinist:
- 7+ years of CNC horizontal machining experience – setup and operation
- Ability to perform multiple set-ups daily
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Solid understanding of G & M codes
- Experience working with various materials such as steel, aluminum, cast iron and alloys
- High attention to detail and pride in your work
- Ability to physically lift/push/pull objects up to 40 lbs.
- Standard measuring tools required

Compensation and schedule:
- $25-30 per hour, based on experience
- First shift: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- We are open 24/7 with flexible scheduling options for second shift
- Second shift employees receive a 10% shift differential on top of base pay
- Second shift employees have the option to choose between five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week, depending on availability
