This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across our building, helping to create a safe, professional and welcoming environment for colleagues, clients and visitors.
Working closely with our Facilities Services Manager and wider Facilities team, you'll play an important part in maintaining our office, supporting events and office moves, and ensuring issues are identified and resolved quickly.
This is a part-time, on-site role based at our Leeds office, working three days per week (Wednesday to Friday). Standard hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, with occasional flexibility required to work 9:00am to 5:30pm to support business needs. The full-time equivalent salary is £27,500 and will be pro-rated to reflect the part-time working pattern.
As the maintenance assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out planned and reactive building maintenance tasks.
- Completing regular inspections to identify maintenance issues, ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and maintain high standards across the office.
- Working with the Facilities Services Manager to prioritise and complete work requests.
- Liaising with external contractors during maintenance and servicing activities.
- Setting up and reconfiguring meeting rooms.
- Supporting office moves, internal events and workspace changes.
- Assisting with facilities projects and overseeing small works.
- Managing stock, supplies and waste collections, including ordering and deliveries.
- Supporting the wider Facilities team with any other reasonable duties as required.
What we're looking for
- Practical experience of building maintenance, including basic plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs.
- Experience of general DIY and repair work.
- Garden and landscape maintenance experience.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and manage a varied workload.
- Strong communication skills and a helpful approach.
- Basic Microsoft Outlook skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A full, current driving licence.
Some of our benefits include:
- FTE salary £27,500, pro-rated for the part-time hours worked.
- The opportunity to earn up to 10% of your salary through our annual bonus scheme.
- 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (FTE), increasing to 31 days with length of service, with the opportunity to buy up to 5 days additional days per year.
- Auto enrolled into our workplace pension scheme, and we’ll contribute a minimum of 6% of your salary.
- Life assurance of four times your annual salary.
