Position Overview:
Ameresco currently has a new opportunity at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in Havelock, NC for an experienced Site Safety Manager to oversee daily construction and project operations and ensure a safe, healthy, accident-free work environment.
Responsibilities:
Participate in Construction Team meetings and provide regular on-site project presence. Plan, implement, manage, and maintain comprehensive environmental safety & health programs at project site locations.
Provide Project Management Team with guidance on health and safety and confirm project site fulfills industry, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action and implement follow up assessments.
Collaborate with Project Management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as Primary Contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management.
Maintain a written log of project site safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
Plan, implement, and conduct project site preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering or related discipline OR a minimum of 5 years related experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in addition to a high school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial, government, or industrial safety management.
Ability to review confidential US security information.
EM-385 Certification.
Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour Construction Safety and industry; standards plus familiarity with DOE 10 CFR Part 851 highly desirable.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience developing, implementing, and managing Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
Ability to manage positive and effective interpersonal, functional, organizational relationships with all parties.
Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication and presentation skills. Current CHST, CSP, ASP, CSHO, or equivalent professional safety certification.
Experience working under USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC, or other Department of Defense construction contracts.
Experience with electronic safety management systems and digital reporting
Valid Driver License issued by state of residence and in good standing.
Ability to travel and provide on-call response required.
