About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic / Electrician is a skilled craftsman responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a petrochemical manufacturing environment. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude combined with electrical maintenance and troubleshooting expertise to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be dependable and punctual
  • Own means of reliable transportation
  • Provide personal tools (list available upon request)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a chemical, or industrial manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to work in adverse/inclement weather conditions
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound repair decisions
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and utilize precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings preferred
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and installation of process plant equipment, including but not limited to pumps, motors, gear drives, centrifuges, and other rotating equipment, with an emphasis on bearings, seals, and mechanical seals.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of rotary screw air compressors.
  • Remove, install, and maintain process valves and associated piping systems.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of steam boilers and auxiliary equipment.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, motor controls, starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), transformers, power distribution equipment, and lighting systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults using testing and diagnostic equipment, including multimeters, megohmmeters, and other electrical testing tools.
  • Perform electrical wiring, conduit installation, cable pulling, terminations, and panel modifications in accordance with applicable electrical codes and company standards.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical control circuits, instrumentation, sensors, relays, and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, loop drawings, and P&ID drawings.
  • Assist with electrical upgrades, preventive maintenance programs, equipment installations, and plant improvement projects.
  • Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and work safely around energized and de-energized electrical systems in accordance with company safety policies.
  • Metal fabrication skills are required.
  • Must be proficient in the installation and fabrication of process piping systems, including threading, welding, and soldering.
  • When instructed, perform cleaning, painting, and general labor duties.
  • Perform additional building and grounds maintenance as required.
  • Local travel may be required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Journeyman Electrician license, electrical certification, or equivalent industrial electrical experience.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting, instrumentation, and automation systems.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70E, and industrial electrical safety practices.
  • Experience working in hazardous or classified industrial environments.

Pay Transparency


Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.

  

The pay range for the primary location of this position is: 20.72 - 27.60 USD per hour
