We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing SUE projects, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Manage SUE projects involving Quality Levels D, C, B, and A, including records research, field designation, survey/data collection, test-hole coordination, mapping/CAD, and final deliverables.
· Develop project schedules, coordinate appropriate field crew makeup, and communicate daily priorities and changes to project teams.
· Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and maintain clear communication regarding scope, schedule, access, constraints, deliverables, and project status.
· Coordinate with Colorado 811, utility owners, municipalities, agencies, and other jurisdictions for records, access, permits, and project requirements.
· Track project scope, budget, labor, subcontractors, and schedule; identify potential changes or risks early and communicate them before they affect delivery.
· Review field documentation, utility data, sketches, photos, mapping, and CAD deliverables for completeness and consistency before engineering review or client delivery.
· Coordinate Quality Level A test-hole activities, including permitting, traffic control, hydrovac resources, restoration, and documentation.
· Support QA/QC and compliance with company safety procedures and SUE operations.
· Work closely with CAD/mapping staff and the responsible professional engineer when engineering review, quality-level assignment, or stamped deliverables are required.
· Participate in project kickoff, progress, closeout, and post-project review meetings.
Requirements
· 5+ years of experience in SUE, utility locating/designating, utility construction, survey, civil infrastructure, or a closely related field, with demonstrated project coordination or leadership experience.
· Practical understanding of underground utility systems and utility investigation methods, including electromagnetic locating and GPR.
· Working knowledge of SUE Quality Levels D, C, B, and A and the project workflow associated with collecting and delivering utility information.
· Experience coordinating field crews, clients, utility owners, and jurisdictions.
· Ability to read civil plans, utility plans, construction drawings, and project scope documents.
· Proficiency with common project documentation and Microsoft Office tools.
· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Colorado.
· No civil engineering degree is required for this position.
