Overview

The Executive Director of Speech Language Pathology provides senior-level leadership, strategic direction, and discipline-specific expertise within a highly matrixed organization to advance EIM’s academic products and services and strengthen its university and healthcare partnerships. This role serves as a key advisor and thought leader, guiding the development, growth, and delivery of innovative healthcare education solutions that align with workforce demands, market opportunities, accreditation requirements, and emerging industry trends. By bridging academic excellence with business strategy, the executive director helps ensure that EIM’s programs, services, and partnerships remain relevant, competitive, and positioned for sustained growth.

 

Working collaboratively across academic, operational, and partner-facing teams, this role drives strategic initiatives that enhance product quality, learner outcomes, and organizational impact. The role informs academic innovation, partnership development, accreditation readiness, curriculum strategy, and market positioning while fostering scalable, high-quality educational models. Through thought leadership, relationship building, and continuous improvement, the executive director advances EIM’s reputation as a trusted healthcare education partner and a leader in workforce-focused academic innovation.Benefits:

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to the following)

University Partnerships

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to university partners on program development, student success, growth, quality, and long-term sustainability.
  • Collaborate with Learning, Design, and Technology (LDT) to architect and revise curriculum and academic frameworks that align with accreditation standards, workforce needs, and institutional goals.
  • Create and lead faculty development and mentoring programs, shaped by discipline-specific best practices, that drive instructional excellence.
  • Support recruitment of key academic leaders (i.e., Program Director, Director of Clinical Education).
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to plan and execute successful program launches, providing discipline-specific leadership to ensure academic quality, regulatory compliance, and launch readiness.

 

Clinical Education

  • Partner with clinical education teams and healthcare organizations to develop, expand, and optimize clinical affiliation networks that support learner access and workforce needs.
  • Create and strengthen recruitment pipelines by collaborating with healthcare partners to transition students from clinical placements to graduates and ultimately into employed healthcare professionals.
  • Provide discipline-specific expertise regarding clinical education models, fieldwork requirements, experiential learning best practices, and accreditation standards to ensure quality, compliance, and learner success.
  • Develop scalable strategies in partnership with the clinical education team that improve the quality, availability, and effectiveness of clinical and fieldwork placements.

 

Learning Design & Technology (LDT)

  • Serve as the lead SME for the development, review, and enhancement of curricular resources, instructional materials, and learning frameworks.
  • Partner with LDT to support the development, revision, and maintenance of EIM academic products and services.
  • Support innovation in program delivery models that enhance quality, scalability, and student success.

 

Marketing

  • Provide strategic insights on discipline specific learner demographics, market trends, audience segmentation, competitive positioning, and messaging.
  • Participate in brand-building initiatives that enhance EIM awareness, engagement, and market credibility.
  • Contribute discipline-specific thought leadership content, research, and industry insights that differentiate EIM's reputation as a healthcare education leader.

 

Enrollment

  • Advise Enrollment teams on prospective student needs, motivations, and decision-making factors.
  • Provide discipline-specific recommendations that inform recruitment and communication strategies.
  • Support the development of engagement approaches that improve inquiry-to-enrollment conversion and student persistence.
  • Conduct routine audits of conversation guides and student interactions to ensure alignment between messaging, learner expectations, and enrollment outcomes.

 

 

Academic Compliance & Assessment

  • Provide expert guidance on accreditation, regulatory, and professional standards and partner with the accreditation team to identify and respond to emerging trends, requirements, and compliance risks.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in discipline-specific accreditation standards and regulatory requirements, providing strategic recommendations that support university partner success and organizational readiness.
  • Advise academic programs, curricula, and strategic initiatives align with evolving accreditation and regulatory requirements.

 

Business Development & Healthcare Partnerships

  • In collaboration with Healthcare Partnerships, lead discipline-specific market analysis, identifying emerging healthcare education opportunities, and providing strategic recommendations to support growth.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on workforce trends, healthcare employment demand, and evolving professional roles to inform business development strategies.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with healthcare organizations, professional associations, and industry stakeholders while expanding EIM’s market presence, influence, and strategic partnerships.
  • Advise prospective university and healthcare partners on product or program viability, delivery models, competitive positioning, and critical success factors.

 

Organizational Leadership & Thought Leadership

  • Serve as EIM's senior discipline expert and trusted advisor across academic, operational, and partnership functions, fostering a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement across EIM.
  • Exercise strategic influence with university and healthcare partners to develop innovative, evidence-based products and services that strengthen workforce readiness and address emerging healthcare demands.
  • Represent EIM through scholarly work, professional engagement, conference presentations, and industry leadership activities.
  • Own and maintain the discipline-specific knowledge base to support informed decision-making and consistent execution across service lines.

Qualifications

Key Qualifications

Required:

  • Terminal or doctoral degree appropriate to the discipline (e.g., PhD, EdD, clinical doctorate, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 10 years of combined academic, clinical, and leadership experience within the discipline, including academic, administrative, product management, or educational technology leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to lead complex academic initiatives, advise senior academic stakeholders, and operate effectively in matrix environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working with programmatic accreditation standards relevant to the discipline.
  • Successful track record in launching new academic products, services, or programs.
  • Experience leveraging enterprise CRM and other platforms to manage partner data, P&L, track pipelines, and generate performance reports.
  • Proficiency of MS Office.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and strategic thinking skills.

 

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with hybrid or accelerated education models and learning analytics.
  • Experience working within or alongside an Online Program Management (OPM) organization.
