Description
About Us
Greenbrook Medical is building the new standard in primary care.
We deliver high-touch, relationship-based care through neighborhood clinics, grounded in a simple belief: every senior deserves the kind of care we would want for our own families. Our model prioritizes time with patients, strong care coordination, and a personalized approach that improves outcomes while lowering total cost of care.
We take full accountability for patient outcomes and overall cost of care, aligning clinical excellence with disciplined execution. That commitment shows up in our results, including a patient Net Promoter Score of 91, compared to 32 for typical healthcare organizations.
Rooted in Tampa Bay and partnered with Tampa General Hospital, we are entering an exciting phase of growth. Backed by strong unit economics, experienced operators, and a proven playbook, we are looking for builders and operators who want to help scale a healthcare platform designed to deliver better care, better coordination, and better outcomes for seniors.
About The Role
As our Director of Strategic Operations, you'll own two things: getting new clinics and new payer contracts live, and making sure the operations inside them actually work.
Opening a clinic is cross-functional. Real estate, facilities, credentialing, and more have to manage a suite of tasks — buildout, furniture, supplies, signage, utilities, licenses, payer loading - to open on time. You'll take that over and run it end to end. You'll also own how the clinic performs for its first 90 days, because a site that opens on time but runs badly isn't a win.
The second half of the job is being the deputy to the VP of Operations. You'll take strategic projects across schedule management, HEDIS quality, and patient experience, and build enough depth in clinical operations to become the person Pop Health and Learning & Development come to when they need an operator's answer. You will design workflows that can scale.
Location: Tampa Bay Area, FL or New York City. If you're based in New York, expect regular travel to our Tampa clinics, including weekly on-site presence in the month leading up to a clinic launch.
What You’ll Do
Deputy to the VP of Operations
- Run Operations projects and oversee performance against our quarterly metrics
- Serve as the operational counterpart to Pop Health and Learning & Development, bringing the workflow expertise that makes their tools and training land
- Run Joint Operating Committee agendas and represent Operations in cross-functional forums
New Clinic Launches
- Own the full launch project after lease signature: buildout oversight, furniture, decor, supplies, signage, utilities, licensure, and payer loading
- Be on the ground in Tampa through the critical stretch before opening, working the punch list until the site is ready
- Hold the cross-functional partners — real estate, recruiting, L&D, IT, credentialing — to the dates the launch depends on
The First 90 Days After Launch
- Own how a new clinic operates once it's open, not just whether it opened
- Hold the site to defined process standards: new patient volume, in-visit HEDIS gap closure, referral turnaround, and booking the right visit type for the right patient
- Pull forward the upstream investments that make this possible, from staffing ahead of ramp to training built before day one
New Payer Go-Lives
- Quarterback new payer implementations from signed contract to live: directory loading, credentialing coordination, data feeds, and payer-side relationship mapping
- Be the single person who can answer whether we're on track to see patients, get paid, and receive the data we need on the go-live date
- Own the outcome even where the tasks sit with credentialing, data, or growth
Acquisitions and Integration
- Own integration planning for acquired practices, coordinating recruiting, patient onboarding, systems, and workflow adoption
Strategic Operations Projects
- Lead standardization and improvement work across schedule management, HEDIS quality, and patient experience
- Build the reporting these areas need, from schedule audits and capacity planning to HEDIS gap reconciliation and churn classification
- Design workflows that scale and produce reliable data, then work them into how our teams actually operate
You may take on other responsibilities as the business needs them. We're growing quickly and this role will change as we do.
What Success Looks Like
- New clinics open on time and on budget
- Every new clinic is hitting its defined operating standards 90 days after launch
- New payer go-lives happen on the committed date, with patients seen, claims paid, and data flowing
- Standardization and strategic projects ship and hold, with the reporting to prove it
- Our AWV completion, post-discharge follow-up, patient NPS, and regrettable churn targets are met
About You
You bring:
- 4+ years in a strategy, consulting, or operations role, with a track record of owning ambiguous problems end to end.
- 2+ years in healthcare. Medicare Advantage or value-based care is a plus but not required.
- Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to build a report from a data warehouse from design to final product without oversight.
- Project management skills and the discipline to drive detailed, cross-functional work to a date.
- High EQ and the ability to influence without formal authority, since most of the people you depend on won't report to you.
- A willingness to do unglamorous work yourself when that's what the job requires.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the resourcefulness to go get the inputs you need rather than waiting for them.
- Ability to travel to our Tampa Bay clinics regularly, including extended stretches around clinic openings.
You'll stand out if you:
- Have worked in Medicare Advantage, value-based care, or another risk-bearing primary care setting.
- Management Consulting, MBA, or equivalent strategic experience
- Can write SQL and work directly in a BI or data warehouse environment.
- Have supported new site openings, buildouts, or acquisitions.
- Have designed operational workflows and seen them through to adoption, not just documentation.
- Want to run a market or a large operating team in the next few years.
