The Senior Principal Product Manager, Data & AI Product Management reports to the VP, Data & AI Product Management and leads a portfolio of multiple products (including enhancements and new features). In this role, the Senior Principal Product Manager is accountable for driving customer and business value through the end-to-end ownership of product outcomes and ensuring alignment around clear OKRs across the portfolio and senior stakeholders.
Operating within a modern product operating model, this role champions empowered teams with a clear product vision and a deep understanding of customer needs, using continuous discovery and evidence‑based, data-driven decision making to ensure solutions are valuable, usable, feasible, and viable. The Senior Principal Product Manager partners closely with engineering, design, data, and stakeholders to continuously discover, deliver, and iterate on solutions that drive measurable customer value and sustainable business impact. This leader ensures that Data & AI products are not only viable and differentiated in the marketplace, but also compliant with industry standards and responsive to evolving business needs.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Owns and executes the product vision and strategy for a defined Data & AI product or portfolio, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities, business objectives, and customer needs, and shaping enterprise Data & AI product direction through strategic narratives and executive alignment.
- Translates strategic objectives into actionable plans for the product team, prioritizing initiatives based on business value, customer impact, and resource constraints, while defining portfolio-level prioritization principles, investment tradeoffs, and sequencing across competing demands.
- Manages product lifecycle activities from ideation through launch, adoption, and optimization, ensuring all stage gates and quality standards are met, and ensuring consistent lifecycle governance, adoption strategy, and value realization across releases.
- Partners with Data & AI Product Operations to define and report on Data & AI product values and ensure prioritization and roadmap decisions are grounded in validated customer and market evidence.
- Develops and maintains an outcome-focused product roadmap with clear milestones, dependencies, and timelines; regularly communicates progress, risks, and tradeoffs to stakeholders.
- Demonstrated people leadership capability (coaching, talent development, and performance management).
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including influencing without authority and driving alignment across competing priorities
- Partners with Data & AI Product Discovery & Design to champion a customer-centric approach, engaging directly with customers and key stakeholders to gather insights, validate solutions, and ensure high satisfaction.
- Establishes and tracks product success and value metrics (OKRs) for the product area, monitoring performance pre- and post-launch and driving continuous improvement.
- Supports Data & AI Delivery Management in guiding the product team in agile delivery, participating in team ceremonies and ensuring best practices in backlog management, user story development, and iterative improvement.
- Collaborates with technical product and engineering partners to define and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and use cases that articulate customer value and expected outcomes.
- Partners with engineering, design, data science, commercialization, sales, marketing, customer success, and implementation leaders to ensure shared goals, clarity of requirements, and coordinated delivery.
- Drives adoption of empowered, outcome-based product practices within the product area, including effective discovery, backlog prioritization, and iterative delivery.
- Partners with Data & AI Product Operations to develop business cases, monitor financial performance, and adjust plans to ensure product viability and growth.
- Embeds compliance into discovery and delivery practices to ensure products meet applicable privacy, SOX, healthcare/pharma, security, and related requirements in partnership with Legal, Privacy, Security, and Compliance.
- Serves as primary liaison between product team and cross-functional partners, as well as primary point of contact for external partners and stakeholders relevant to the product’s ecosystem.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of experience as a Product Manager and/or Product Leader in the pharma/healthcare space, or direct experience in relevant business or functional domains, including leading multiple teams and complex product portfolios.
- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience considered.
- Experience with tools such as ADO, Jira, Confluence, and other agile project management and collaboration tools is highly desirable.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing product services, understanding of the entire product lifecycle from conception to delivery, including Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Ability to align product strategies with business objectives and market opportunities at portfolio scale.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with sales, marketing, engineering, finance, customer success teams, and executive stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills, capable of making data-driven decisions to enhance product offerings and customer experience.
- Demonstrated people leadership capability (coaching, talent development, and performance management).
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including influencing without authority and driving alignment across competing priorities
- Proficiency in using analytics tools to gather insights, measure success, and validate ideas through metrics.
- Understanding of technology concepts, APIs, and software development processes to collaborate with engineering teams effectively.
- Familiarity with the competitive landscape, customer segments, and emerging trends in the product domain.
- Knowledge of revenue models, pricing strategies, and the impact of product decisions on profitability and scalability.
- Ability to identify problems, analyze root causes, and propose innovative solutions while balancing constraints.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and adjust strategies as needed.
- Capability to translate high-level vision into actionable goals, deliverables, and timelines.
- Understanding of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements (if applicable).
- Knowledge of the Product Operating Model, bias for action, and a passion to build products customers love that work for the business.
