Job Description

As a Security Officer Electronic Access Operator in Kansas City, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. You will communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and contractors while supporting site protocols. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate at a chemical and petrochemical facility.
• Control access to the location by verifying identification, credentials, visitor authorizations, and contractor requirements; issue visitor badges and maintain accurate access records.
• Monitor entry and exit points, vehicle traffic, delivery activity, and restricted areas in accordance with site procedures; report unusual conditions or unauthorized access attempts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, medical events, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, access points, parking areas, and other assigned locations; document observations and complete required reports.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
