GENERAL SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Interventional Radiology team in Farmington Hills. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will work collaboratively with Interventional Radiologists, nursing staff, technologists, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures.
This position offers a combination of procedural practice, inpatient and outpatient consultation, and direct physician support, with an emphasis on developing an efficient, collaborative, and patient-centered Interventional Radiology service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Provide direct clinical and procedural support to Interventional Radiology physicians.
- Independently perform procedures within established scope of practice, institutional privileges, and competency, including but not limited to: Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, Image-guided biopsies and additional image-guided and minimally invasive procedures based on training, competency, and departmental needs
- Perform inpatient and outpatient Interventional Radiology consultations in coordination with the attending physician.
- Obtain comprehensive histories and physical examinations and assess patients for procedural appropriateness.
- Review relevant laboratory results, imaging, medications, and clinical history in preparation for procedures.
- Obtain informed consent and provide patient and family education regarding procedures, expected outcomes, and follow-up care.
- Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the attending Interventional Radiologist.
- Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure evaluation and management, including identification and management of potential complications.
- Communicate recommendations and procedural plans with referring physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
- Complete timely and accurate clinical and procedural documentation.
- Assist with coordination and continuity of care for patients receiving Interventional Radiology services.
- Participate in the continued development and expansion of the APP role within the Interventional Radiology department.
- Support departmental quality improvement, patient safety, and operational initiatives.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Training:
- Master's Degree in Nursing OR a Masters in Physician Assistant studies
Work Experience:
- 1 to 3 years’ experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in Interventional Radiology is preferred.
Strong procedural skills or demonstrated interest and ability to develop procedural competency.
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
Ability to function both independently and collaboratively within a physician-led Interventional Radiology team.
Certification, Licensure, Registration:
- State of Michigan Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license required
- AHA/ARC BLS certification required
- ACLS preferred
