About the role Elite Supplements Australia is looking for an HR Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day compliance, policy and operational HR functions across our national retail and franchise network. This role sits at the centre of a multi-jurisdictional business (Australia, New Zealand and Singapore), working closely with People & Culture leadership, retail operations, payroll and franchise partners to keep our HR practice legally sound and commercially practical.
You'll take on established, business-critical responsibilities from day one - including Fair Work and workers compensation liaison, WHS policy ownership, and workplace investigations - while also auditing and tightening existing HR policies, contract templates and benefits arrangements already in place across our operating jurisdictions.
Key responsibilities
Compliance, legislation & risk ● Maintain and monitor compliance with federal and state employment legislation across all processes and
procedures, flagging and remediating gaps - including NZ and Singapore-specific requirements, either built into existing processes or maintained as jurisdiction-specific documents.
● Act as the primary liaison for workers compensation and Fair Work matters (HQ and retail). ● Own WHS policy management and ongoing compliance monitoring. ● Investigate workplace complaints, harassment, bullying and customer conduct issues at store level. ● Own the disciplinary process end-to-end, including maintaining PIP and related documentation templates. ● Review multi-jurisdictional employment contract templates (AU/NZ/Singapore) to ensure they reflect current
legislation.
Policy, strategy & benefits ● Maintain and improve compliance of current HR policies and employment handbooks. ● Lead a full review of existing HR policies and employment handbooks, closing compliance gaps and
tightening language. ● Review and strengthen existing HR policies and organisational practices to improve the employee experience. ● Review and formalise existing employee benefits and compensation arrangements (e.g. salary sacrifice,
insurance broker arrangements) into the employment manual. ● Audit and refresh all policies for currency and upload to Employment Hero. ● Lead initiatives to maintain and build company culture.
Recruitment & onboarding ● Manage onboarding and offboarding for HQ roles, including contract drafting (bespoke where required) and
coordinating platform/tech setup with the relevant teams.
● Support onboarding/offboarding for retail roles alongside the existing team member managing this function, including reference and police checks and correct Employment Hero setup.
● Support in-house recruitment: draft and publish Seek ads, manage Seek billing and account maintenance, shortlist applicants, and build a pipeline of applicants for urgent hires.
● Own probation management across the business, including auditing Employment Hero records and notifying line managers ahead of key milestones.
● Ensure accurate employee data is recorded at onboarding, following up with payroll on any records rejected by Single Touch Payroll (STP).
Franchise & stakeholder support ● Provide HR support to the franchise network, with Territory Managers as first point of contact on behalf of
Franchise Associates. ● Partner with finance/payroll on pay and conditions, and advise on legislative changes affecting pay. ● Provide guidance to payroll on salary updates arising from award changes.
Reporting & operations ● Analyse HR statistics and metrics - performance, turnover, retention, cost per hire - and provide KPI insight at
all levels of the business. ● Run monthly audits of Employment Hero platform access to ensure only current staff retain access.
Selection criteria
Essential ● Solid working knowledge of Australian employment law (Fair Work Act, relevant Awards) with demonstrated
ability to translate legislation into practical process. ● Experience managing workplace investigations, misconduct and disciplinary processes end-to-end. ● Experience with WHS policy management and workers compensation processes. ● Experience reviewing or drafting employment contracts and HR policy documentation. ● Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable working across HQ, retail operations and franchise
partners. ● High attention to detail and comfortable owning compliance-critical documentation.
Desirable ● Experience with Employment Hero (or a similar HRIS/payroll platform). ● Exposure to multi-jurisdictional HR, particularly New Zealand and/or Singapore employment law. ● Experience in retail, franchise or multi-site network environments. ● Experience with recruitment platforms (e.g. Seek) and learning management systems (e.g. Moodle). ● Experience developing employee benefits, compensation or culture programs.
