At Raytheon, we are building the future of defense. The Coyote factory in the United Arab Emirates will be the first of its kind – a lean, high-velocity production center for next-generation counter-UAS technologies. We are seeking bold, execution-driven team members to help drive the standard for operational excellence.
As a Manufacturing Development Engineer you will lead and coordinate with US counterparts to set up UAE facility by providing technical manufacturing assistance from the early development phases through transition to full scale production. In this role, you will leverage your technical knowledge of manufacturing capabilities, product technologies, factory requirements and business processes to establish and execute the manufacturing plan and influence technical program decisions to support the overall operations.
What You Will Do
Manufacturing process development and factory capabilities analysis to ensure production readiness and improve product producibility
Participation in manufacturing and test requirements development
Developing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs.
Providing technical input and peer review to engineering designs and design changes
Providing technical guidance and problem solving to assembly and quality team
Applying manufacturing engineering skillsets across the value stream to resolve constraints, improve process and product designs.
Serving as the manufacturing and producibility authority within the program
Recommending process and procedural changes to ensure that objectives in the areas of cost, efficiency, and quality are met
Designing, controlling, and improving the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team
Identifying and resolving constraints across the program
Participating in corrective action investigation
Qualifications You Must Have
Requires a bachelor’s degree Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering and minimum five years of relevant experience.
Experience working in manufacturing production with manufacturing process development or improvement
Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE)
Experience with technical writing, interpreting and improving technical drawings and communicating technical information to different audiences
Qualifications We Prefer:
Ability to identify, reduce and eliminate cost, quality and schedule constraints through technical engagements along with an innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and keeps pace with advances in technology
Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines in a team environment.
Experience with MRP systems and Manufacturing Readiness Assessments
Ability to work in highly controlled, constraint driven production environment
Good communicator with confidence to engage both shop floor teams and senior management
