PURPOSE:
The Demand Planner, eCommerce is responsible for developing and managing demand forecasts and inventory plans across Godiva’s eCommerce channels. The role partners closely with Channel Leads, Supply Planning, Supply Chain Operations, Marketing, and Merchandising to translate commercial strategies and customer demand into actionable forecasts and inventory requirements.
This role provides forward-looking insights into sales trends, inventory health, promotional activity, and changing demand patterns, helping the eCommerce business balance customer service, inventory investment, and profitability.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:
- Own the category and item-level demand planning and forecasting process across assigned eCommerce channels, including Wholesale.com, Costco.com, Amazon Fresh, and Fresh Direct.
- Develop category- and item-level sales and inventory plans aligned with channel objectives, including sales, margin, in-stock performance, and inventory productivity.
- Develop pre-season and in-season forecasts using historical performance, current demand trends, commercial inputs, promotional plans, and other relevant demand signals.
- Review actual sales performance against forecast and identify meaningful trends and variances across weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual planning horizons.
- Partner with Channel Leads, Marketing, and Merchandising to incorporate commercial strategies, promotions, product launches, and other demand drivers into the forecast.
- Partner with Supply Planning to translate demand forecasts into supply requirements and support timely product availability across assigned channels.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Operations to maintain appropriate inventory positioning and product flow across the distribution network, supporting service objectives while minimizing excess inventory.
- Monitor inventory health and provide proactive visibility to potential out-of-stocks, excess inventory, weeks of supply, and other conditions requiring cross-functional action.
- Manage demand and inventory planning for promotional programs, including Purchase with Purchase (PWP), Gift with Purchase (GWP), and other designated promotional activities.
- Provide regular in-season performance updates by channel, comparing actual sales against forecast and recommending actions in response to changing business conditions.
- Partner cross-functionally to rebalance inventory across channels when appropriate to maximize sell-through and mitigate excess or obsolete inventory.
- Monitor product shelf life and proactively identify inventory approaching expiration, partnering with cross-functional teams to develop mitigation plans and support appropriate disposition decisions when required.
- Develop reporting and analytics that provide actionable insights into business performance, demand trends, and inventory health to support effective decision-making.
- Support new product introductions and seasonal programs by aligning demand forecasts, launch timing, inventory requirements, and supply readiness with commercial plans.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on strengthening forecasting, inventory visibility, planning processes, analytics, and supporting systems.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, eCommerce Planning, Retail Planning, or a related analytical planning function.
- Experience supporting eCommerce, retail, or similarly dynamic customer/channel environments preferred.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Planning, and/or Supply Chain Operations.
- Experience working with seasonal, promotional, and new product demand preferred.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Strong knowledge of demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, and S&OP/IBP processes.
- Strong analytical aptitude with demonstrated critical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear business insights, recommendations, and actions.
- Strong understanding of demand drivers, inventory dynamics, and forecast performance.
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality.
- Ability to build effective cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders through credible analysis and sound judgment.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple planning cycles and deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with business intelligence, forecasting, ERP, or planning systems preferred, with the ability and willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
Working Conditions:
Flexible working arrangement in accordance with company policy, with occasional travel to company locations or meetings as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
Base starting salary ranges from $69,613 - $87,016 per year. The base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive opportunity, awarded based on individual and company performance.
