 Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue specialized research training, education and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine within the Department of Internal Medicine; plans, designs and executes experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the assigned research lab; collects and analyzes data for research sponsored by appropriate agencies and Institutions; identifies and selects problems to be studied; develops and troubleshoots new experimental techniques and protocols; attends research seminars; contributes to manuscript preparation and supports technical writing; participates in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding; performs additional duties as assigned.

Additional Information:

The applicant will drive specialized RNA sequencing and cellular activity projects from execution to completion, with the long-term goal of developing an independent research program. Under the guidance of senior lab personnel, the successful candidate will master essential wet lab methodologies and utilize advanced bioinformatics pipelines to advance both primary and collaborative laboratory initiatives. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary author and driver for scientific manuscripts, regularly presenting research progress at internal laboratory and institutional meetings, and disseminating findings at one to two external scientific conferences annually. The ideal candidate must maintain a respectful, positive, and highly collaborative relationship with all team members, demonstrating the strong self-motivation required to lead experimental and writing tasks while remaining receptive to mentorship.
