Department Overview
The team responsible for global mobility within the Group Human Resources Supervisory Department-the department for this job opening-will provide support and develop systems to ensure that the right talent is delivered in a timely manner to the regions where it is needed, in order to strongly drive the Rakuten Group’s global business.
In addition to managing daily assignment projects and payroll processes, you will be expected to improve and innovate processes from the viewpoints of efficiency and effectiveness.

We are looking for a new member to strengthen resourcing for the processes related to paying compensation and allowances for employees on overseas assignments. Because this work is directly related to pay, we would like to hire a person who can prioritize compliance and accuracy from both domestic (Japan) and international perspectives, and who can respond with flexibility based on the circumstances.

Position Details
・Support for payroll processing for employees on overseas assignments
・Annual administrative support for employees departing for overseas assignments (including TEQ, year-end tax adjustments upon departure, and tax filing upon return)
・Administration and tracking of overseas assignee information
・Operations related to international transfers (moving employees to overseas entities)
・Improving operational processes
・Handling inquiries from assignees
・Other related tasks
Note: You may also be asked to participate in and manage projects within the team, as well as cross-functional projects across the department (e.g., QCC activities or handling transfer cases).
Work Environment
The Global Mobility & Coordination Group, part of the HR Operations Section within the Employee Relations Department, consists of approximately five members. The team works in close coordination-especially with the relocation support members within the same group where information sharing is essential-and has a collaborative culture to move cases forward together.
Previous job was at a manufacturing company as an HR person in charge of managing overseas assignees, and then joined Rakuten.
The person supported day-to-day operations in the Mobility Group as a team member for three years, and later advanced to Group Manager, and performed successfully.
Mandatory Qualifications:
・Experience in payroll operations or tax-related work
・Hands-on experience in global HR or mobility (e.g., relocation support)
・Business experience using English in the workplace
Desired Qualifications:
・Tax-related knowledge
・Project management experience
・Experience working on an overseas assignment (as an expatriate)
・Experience in HR planning and/or HR system design
