Description

 Aircraft Electrical Technician I

 

Definition:   This is the entry and first working level for an aviation electrician. Incumbents at this

level work under the instruction of an Aircraft Electrical Technician II and the direction of a

Lead Technician to diagnose, inspect, repair and manufacture aircraft wiring and electrical

systems and components; disassemble and overhaul aircraft electrical components; install and rig

critical aircraft electrical components and return to service sophisticated electrical systems and

components.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:  Possession of the following certificates: FAA Airframe Technician’s

Certificate or FCC General Radio Certificate and a valid Class-C Driver’s License. One year of

documented aerospace/aviation electrical work experience may qualify in lieu of certificates.

Knowledge and Abilities: Aircraft AC and DC electrical systems, wire marking standards,

electrical wiring fabrication, installation and repair electrical load analysis and wire sizing,

electrical components including starters, generators, voltage regulators, dimming controls,

transformer/rectifiers, inverters, and frequency controllers, and FAA wiring and electrical

maintenance procedures and practices.   Troubleshoot electrical system malfunctions; determine

and make necessary repairs to electrical systems and components; design and fabricate electrical

wire harness assemblies for new installation or major repair; design and produce electrical wiring

schematics for fleet aircraft wiring modification and build up; make repairs in accordance with

FAA-approved maintenance requirements; and work cooperatively with other maintenance

technicians in the repair and maintenance of aircraft. May perform Confined Space Entry

maintenance to include aircraft fuel tank repairs.

 

 

** Expect approximately 10% - 50% travel, including overnight stays, to fire bases throughout California**

 

Salary and Other Compensation:  

The hourly rate for this position is $51.71 per hour.  Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include [geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.]  

Benefits: The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, Vacation accrued bi-weekly (80 hours) for 1-4.99 years of Company service (increases every 5 years), Personal Leave – accumulates at four (4) hours per pay period to a maximum of thirteen (13) days per calendar year, and 11 Recognized Holidays.
