Short Description
Serves as a Lead and front-line contact person.
Resolves Data Integrity issues daily.
Must be able to multi-task and work in a team environment.
Assists with training of employees and assigns duties for the Data Integrity team based on departmental needs and workflow.
Provides input to the HIM Operations Manager regarding yearly evaluations.
Oversees and assigns daily workflow of the Data Integrity Specialists to prioritize work and troubleshoot issues.
Processes Patient Amendment Requests for health system with collaboration of healthcare providers. Performs ongoing follow-up to ensure compliance with turnaround times.
Liaison with Patient Access, Ancillary Departments and providers on mis registrations
Serves as a lead and the front-line contact person for mis registrations, patient merges and amendment requests.
Routinely communicates with patients, providers and leadership regarding chart corrections and amendments.
Provides onboarding training in addition to ongoing training of Data Integrity Specialists regarding Epic merge tools, upgrades and new software.
Creates tip sheets as applicable.
Use the Identity Events Report to review merges and merge statuses.
Review demographic changes utilizing chart documentation, media, and multiple external databases.
Change classification of merge pair to an NMR (Needs More Research) if applicable.
Use Patient Contact Mover to transfer notes from one patient record to another.
Process Mis-registrations.
Perform ongoing follow-up with clinician/administrative/office staff after mis registrations.
Perform unlinking via the Care Everywhere Portal based on internal processes (merges, unmerges, etc.) or external facility requests.
Monitor and finalize all requests in the in basket for Chart Correction, Deceased patients, and various other requests.
Work Chart Correction for scanned documents in OnBase.
Correct documents that need to be deleted, were assigned to the incorrect patient, were assigned to the incorrect encounter, or were indexed to the incorrect doc type.
Uploads IMM2s daily.
Upload other documents as needed.
Performs Monthly OP Note and Surgical Consent deficiency audits.
Performs all related duties or special projects as assigned and required.
Experience Required
3-5 years experience within Data Integrity
Education Requirements
High School / GED Required
Associates Degree Preferred
