WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Heavy Haul Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating drivers, equipment, permits, escorts, routing, and customer communication to ensure safe and successful project execution.
Responsibilities Include:
- Dispatch and monitor heavy haul shipments throughout North America
- Coordinate trucks, specialized trailers, and driver assignments
- Communicate continuously with drivers during loading, transit, and delivery
- Manage route changes, delays, weather impacts, and customer expectations
- Coordinate permits, escort vehicles, police escorts, and route restrictions
- Monitor equipment utilization and driver availability
- Utilize transportation systems, GPS tracking, and fleet technology platforms
- Work closely with Operations, Project Managers, Warehouse, Maintenance, and customers
- Track load progress through Samsara, MacroPoint, and internal systems
- Provide proactive updates to customers and internal stakeholders
- Ensure every move complies with DOT regulations, permit requirements, and safety standards
- Help solve problems quickly while keeping projects on schedule
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORPreferred Qualifications:
- Experience in trucking, logistics, dispatching, transportation, or heavy haul operations
- Specifically, Perimeter Trailer experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-moving operations environment
- Comfortable working with technology, transportation software, and GPS tracking systems
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions
- Understanding of DOT regulations, oversized load requirements, or permit logistics is a plus
- Team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of accountability
