Assistant Golf Professional

Overview

An Assistant Golf Professional at Bethesda Country Club will be involved in every aspect of the golf operation. This position reports to the Head Golf Professional and will work closely with the other members of the professional staff. In addition to assisting with all daily duties, this position will have extensive responsibilities within tournament operations, junior golf programming, instruction, and merchandising.

Experience Required

Assistant Professional Requirements:

• PGA Member preferred
• Maintain a positive and welcoming attitude to promote the game of golf
• Conduct and operate with the highest level of integrity and professionalism
• Maintain good standing with the PGA of America, complete all necessary MSR requirements

Essential responsibilities

Golf Instruction:

• Provide members and guests with quality golf instruction using the latest technology
• Offer group clinics to all classifications of members
• Assist the Head Professional with the junior golf program including PGA Junior League and Junior Interclub
• Knowledgeable and proficient in club fitting and club repair

Golf Shop Operations:

• Execute daily operations including opening and closing procedures
• Provide a welcoming environment for members and staff to enjoy
• Assist in ordering and receiving of all merchandise
• Assist in inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders
• Ensure the golf shop displays are updated regularly and the shop is clean at all times
• Provide exceptional service with superior product knowledge

Operations:

• Train and supervise Golf Operations Staff to provide a level of service that exceeds expectations
• Assist in managing the driving range, club storage, and golf cart fleet
• Assist the starters with checking in players and managing daily play
• Play golf regularly with all classifications of members

Tournament Operations:

• Assist in the management of the Tournament Program
• Work closely with the Women's Golf Association and Senior Golf Association
• Operate our current tournament software (Golf Genius and Event-man)
