Position: Aftermarket Controls Conversion Sales Engineer / Controls Solutions Specialist

Reporting into: Aftermarket Sales Organization / Service Division
Position Overview
MPN is looking for a technically strong, customer-facing professional to join their aftermarket sales organization, focused specifically on boiler control system conversions and modernization projects.
The role sits within the service department and supports customers who require more complex solutions beyond standard parts/service requirements.
The ideal candidate will combine:
- Strong building automation / controls knowledge
- Commercial or industrial HVAC experience
- Ability to understand customer challenges and sell technical solutions
This is not a traditional transactional sales role — the candidate will be selling complex technology solutions where technical credibility and customer trust are critical.

A major growth opportunity is upgrading older boiler control systems to modern digital control platforms.
Older boiler systems typically operate using basic mechanical controls, whereas modern systems integrate multiple inputs including:

Core Responsibilities
Controls Conversion Sales
- Identify opportunities for boiler control upgrades within existing customer facilities
- Evaluate customer systems and determine modernization opportunities
- Develop technical solutions based on customer requirements
- Present upgrade recommendations to facility owners/operators
- Manage the sales process from opportunity identification through proposal development
- Build customer confidence in the proposed technology solution
Customer & Project Development
- Work with existing customer base to identify facilities requiring upgrades
- Target accounts based on installed equipment history and modernization opportunities
- Support both inbound opportunities and proactive customer outreach
- Develop relationships with facility teams, engineers, and decision makers
- Support repeat opportunities across multi-site customers
Example:
- Large healthcare customers may have multiple boiler installations requiring upgrades over time

Compensation
