This full-time opportunity is based on-site, reaffirming our commitment to hands-on, direct engagement in operational duties and responsibilities linked to the water and wastewater services vital to our community. This role is integral to the management and operation of water treatment facilities that serve the tribal lands, ensuring access to safe and reliable water resources. The selected candidate will contribute to the environmental well-being of the community, aligning with the Tribe's values of preservation and respect for nature. Please note, this is not a remote job position.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperates pumps, valves, and gates to control the flow of water or effluent.Performs routine servicing and cleaning of water storage facilities, plants, and pipes as well as repairing faults in water supply and storage systems.Services the distribution system leading from the treatment plant.Operates locks and adjusts the water level in weirs.Regulate water flow through stages of the treatment such as filtering, the addition of chemicals and aeration.Monitors flow meters, pressure gauges, power usage and effluent water quality.Inspects and monitors reservoirs, dams, facility operations and equipment to ensure proper operations; assures quality control.Read meters, gauges and other monitoring equipment and interprets readings to determine processing requirements.Makes adjustment to automated controls and instruments, operates valves and gauges to adjust flow and treatment process.Performs routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on equipment, including disinfection equipment.Orders parts and supplies and maintains automated records of equipment repairs, parts list, and inventory.Collects samples for laboratory analysis, interprets results, and prepares records and reports.Responds to emergency situations and alarms.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED Certificate required.Vocational / Technical or Associate’s Degree, preferred.Experience in water and wastewater treatment operations preferred.Knowledge and understanding of applicable requirements concerning plant operations and water quality.Must obtain the following:Oregon Health Authority Level I Treatment Water Operator Certification within 30 months (2 ½ years) of hire.Oregon Health Authority Level 2 Treatment Water Operator Certification within 3 years of obtaining Level I Certification.Must be available for On-Call, weekend shifts and emergency calls, when necessary.Valid driver’s license and driving record which allows coverage on the company insurance.Benefits Offered:Nesika Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Benefit - Eligible the first of the month following 60 days of employmentShort Term/Long Term Disability - Company paid401K – 7% Tribal Contribution - Eligible first quarter following 90 days of employment15K Life Insurance policy – Company paidFlexible Spending Account – Up to $3400.00Recuro Care (Telemedicine) – Company paid with Nesika medical enrollmentEmployee Assistance ProgramFuel Discount Card – .20 cents off a gallon at the Seven Feathers Truck & Travel CenterCostco Reimbursement – up to $65.00 per yearPTO – Hourly employees begin accruing upon the first day of employment and the hours are available after 90 days, with a cap of 480 hoursYears of Service Recognition
